Ektophase I love what you're doing, this template is a godsend for me actually  ;D

What I've actually done though is modified your template a bit so that I can print out the covers for a Universal Game Case.  Then for the games I have cases for (but no box) I can stick the whole case in and give it a more polished look.

I'm working on a UGC case for Cadash right now, once I've got it done I'll post it up so you can see what I'm doing.  I'm also making a DVD case version too since translating between the DVD to UGC is pretty simple and just involves some cropping and moving around the logos.

Thanks again for the template!!!!!

Sorry for the long delay on this, I've finally gotten some pictures taken of how the whole thing turned out in a UGC.

Edit:Added one more photo to show what it looks like with the TurboGrafx CD case in the Universal Game Case.  I guess I'm actually increasing the footprint of this for display, but boy does it look nice :D

hey yeah that looks cool  8), the pictures are a little fuzzy (probably from cell phone?) but looks real good.

If anyone else printed some out already post a pic in here when you get a chance.
I haven't got around to printing some out my self since i first tested the template on bomberman and neutopia seen in this pic (was going to go to kinkos since printer is crap and only prints like 3 pictures an ink cart)

Thor,  I checked out the covers you uploaded so far, some are a little too rough or faded. also in the future upload at 600 dpi if you can
Be sure and use descreen if you did not, maybe you did its hard for me to tell. if you can rescan them at 600 It would be better because then they would look quite a bit better in the end i think.

well i agree it looks good as a ugc case and I think its cool what xelement5x did there, but I'm not sure if its worth doing because some of the later games didn't even come with jewel cases, plus theres the cd/duo games that are cd's anyways. Also if you buy any games used, half the time they only have the game. And many of the original cases are damaged (faded spines, scratched or cracked covers)  there's plenty of room in a dvd case for the game and the manual.

Recently I was also thinking of some nicer ways to put them in the dvd case by using collector card plastic sleeves which are pretty much the same size as the original sleeve. could glue them in or glue them to a piece of thick paper the size of an insert and then put the manual behind that perhaps.

Very nice cover ekto!

I also think that DVD cases are the best way to go because there quite a few nice cd games as well and the manuals fit nice in a DVD box.

Not that it matters too much to me because I stick to the original cases. ;)

Here is Magical Chase. It took me a few hours to fix the damage and i had to recreate a couple of small patches.
It turned out real nice, but we can always replace it if we get a scan that is flawless.

There's also a port of Splatterhouse on the FM Towns Marty and the PC ;) The FM Towns Marty port is even a pixel perfect port of the arcade version.

But what I wanted to say was, great covers. Good work :)

Isn't the FM Towns port also quite expensive not to say prohibitively expensive?

They sure are. Splatterhouse and Zak McKracken seem to be the rarest and moste sought after Fm Towns games. Just a quick check on ebay there's a Splatterhouse and a Zak McKracken copy for around 400 Euros (~ $520).
Oh, and that's $500 EACH not both together :D

I think these are pure collectors items not meant to be played. Playing them would be the equivalent of having sex with a super model on a pile of cash :D

Neither would I, but just as Splatterhouse they don't come cheap. And with that we're right at the beginning again :D
