Re-Scan of N64 Covers
ShoothimNow:
I am really REALLY embarrassed of this because I am afraid of being flamed "waste of bandwidth", "not needed, scans we have are fine", etc... but I really can't take it anymore. Please read the whole post.
It seems that the amount of N64 covers here on The Cover Project are all in horizontal format. There is no problem with that, but upon inspection, few games have Vertical covers. I personally am a fan of the Vertical Style cases, due to the additional "uniform" look they provide when shelving. However, the production of these Vertical Cases seems to average around 1 (maybe 2) a month. What could be causing this?
About a month ago, Shenske introduced Nintendo 64 Mini Cases and I am still inlove with this concept. After pestering him for the template, I was able to print out a Super Smash Bros Mini Case. However... like an addiction, one was not enough. I have downloaded every Nintendo 64 cover on this site and I am suprised on how badly the covers look. With half-assed red bottom bars, grainy pixels, and stickers / writings, I know that with some small edits with some new scans, every case could look top-notch.
From working with Shenske's N64 Mini Cases, I have been constantly looking for the four colored sides (Green Spine, Blue Spine, Red Flap, and Yellow Flap). Personally I am requesting for scans of these sides (most covers have poo quality green spines that are easily fixable), but I am sure I speak for a lot of uploaders when I say that some better quality scans would most likely promote the creation of newer N64 Vertical Covers (and possibly N64 Mini Cases).
I only ask this because... I have looked for the past hour searching for the red flap and yellow flap for Super Mario 64, and I still cant find them! So I figured, why not ask The Cover Project for some assistance! Thank you for reading and I really hope you can contribute to the cause!
(US) N64 Mini Cases Finished --
-- Conker's Bad Fur Day
-- Mario Kart 64
-- Mario Tennis
-- Pokemon Stadium
-- Super Smash Bros
Meaning, I am in need for a lot more N64 scans

I hate to jump on the band wagon, but I agree with you ShoothimNow 100%!
I LOVE Shenske's Vertical format and wish someone would go through all the N64 covers and convert them! I spend a lot of my time here on TCP in the N64 and SNES areas of the site; and I have noticed the poor quality in several of the N64 covers.
I think we need to have a REAL complete set of the N64 game covers and that would include BOTH Vertical and Horizontal formats.

I agree! I have gone through all the covers and have come up with this list of covers that have something wrong with them. There might be a few more items/covers I didn't catch...but who knows...
All-Star Baseball 2001 - N64 logo is cut off at the end
Asteroids 64 - "dark" N64 logo
Automobili Lamborghini - dirty N64 logo
Bass Hunter 64- bid ol' white sticker on back
Blast corps - marker on bar code
Chameleon twist - Red band letters are cut off
FIFA 64' Red band letters are cut off
Knockout Kings 2000 - Bar code is wornout/off looks horrible.
Mike Piazza's Strike Zone - the barcode has the word "PUT" from a marker.
NFL QB Club 2001 - Has TWO stickers on the cover; one on the front that says "NEW RELEASE!" and another yellow one on the back.
NHL 99 - Has a yellow stick on the front of the cover
Olympic Hockey 98 - Red band letters are cut off
Quake II - Does the NTSC spine have the Nintendo 64 on it and in red?
Ridge Racer 64 - Has a sticker on the back of the cover.
Shadow Man - The NTSC spine does not say nintendo 64 and is not black.
Super Bowling - Big ol' white sticker on the FRONT of the cover!
Transformers: Beast Wars - The bottom half of the red bar is grainy looks very bad.
Turok: Rage Wars - Is the NTSC spine really say nintendo 64 and black?
Waialae Country Club - On the spine the word Country the "C" is partly cut off.
WWF Attitude - Bar code is wornout/off looks horrible.
WWF War Zone - the barcode has the word "PUT" from a marker.
Also, I would love if someone could put the Rumble Pack cover into the Nintendo 64 area with it's cutting template...
ShoothimNow, you are right about the N64 area of the site, we are almost there! We just need to polish it up and bust a move no the Vertical covers! ;)
BadChad:
Id imagine alot of the N64 covers were made when quality control wasnt as strict. Obviously now these would be rejected. But back then they were probably very acceptable. Just something to think about...

Which is why I am asking for a re-call of scans

Hey ShoothimNow, would you mind posting the mini cases you already have finished? I sadly have no scans of my own I can provide, seeing as my N64 collection is 100% used. I did see a Bio Freaks box at Play N Trade recently, maybe now I'll pick it up if it's still there next time I have some cash :)
