Hi. Came to this site recently and was amazed at the quality of the covers here, I downloaded many. I'd like to thank everyone for their hard work, you are a talented group of people.

Wanting to contribute, I looked around to see if there are any covers I have which are not yet posted. My search skills aren't the greatest but I didn't see Sunsetriders on Sega Genesis US anywhere so I uploaded it to the "Raw Scans" area.

I'd like to know if anyone here would take a look and let me know if it's good enough to use.

Thanks
Paul

first off, welcome!

Secondly, you scan is amazing, though there is a slight case of "Moire" effect on the spine and front.

This is a link to scanning http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=1305.0

Again, it looks amazing and it is scans like these that really help out!!

So it does have the moire effect? I did read the scanning guide by Doom before I scanned. The picture examples of moire in that thread didn't show up on my screen (I just got the little red x in the corner). I looked for descreen or derasterize, but didn't see those setting anywhere.

Under Advanced Picture Settings my scanner had:
Restore faded color
Apply adaptive lighting
Sharpen (which was checked by default)
Remove dust and scratches

I left these 4 the way they were. I set ppi to 600 and color type to millions of colors.

The only other settings were (I checked both of these):
Scan with higher bit depths (slower scan time)
Scan with optimum color accuracy (6-color scanning, slower scan time)

I would absolutely scan again if someone wants to tweak my settings. Just let me know.

Ok, I found the descreen and uploaded another scan (sunsetriders_a). Let me know if this one's better.

Thanks

The second one is definitely better but still the spine looks like it has a bit of a moire effect to me.

Maybe that's the best possible for the source.

I tried it again. Feel free to delete the lesser ones.

I uploaded a couple scans from the request area. Am I suppose to notify the requester or anyone else (pm, post in their thread etc...)?

Wouldn't be bad to notify the requesters in their threads that sources would be available.
