KaiserWAVE:

Phelios, that game is on my "to-buy-list", one more reason to look forward to getting it :)

Oh, if you want some nice Engrish I can recommend the endings of Samurai Shodown II.

Ooh yeh..isnt 'Victoly' from SSII after a win also? You can forgive the game anything as it looks and plays so well. Phelios is a great shooter BTW.

KaiserWAVE:

I was surprised how many great shooters there are on the Mega Drive. Some of the them are a bit pricy though *cough* eliminate down *cough* :)

Well, at least I always get a cover with the game I buy on the Mega Drive, that's a good thing :)

Yep. Thats a pricey one for sure. Mighty good though. I played it on friends Mega Cart ages ago and thought it was one of the best SEU i had ever seen, though i think Alien Soldier gives it a run for its money now and thats pretty expensive as well. I liked an obscure one called Verytex thats not great graphically but the music is awesome and its a great challenge.

KaiserWAVE:

Yeah you beat me to Verytex actually. I saw the game and thought, wow that's a great game. I bought it and thought I would upload a raw scan so others can make a cover for it. I hit the search function just in case we already had a cover but I didn't expect to find anything. Imagine my surprise when I found out we already had a cover and you did it :D

I did a lot of research on shmups on the Mega Drive and I already own a good chunk of them. There are still a few that I "need" but I don't think I'll get all of them. Eliminate Down for $250 is a bit to steep. $150 for Gleylancer is also very expensive but it's such an awesome game that I might just take the plunge and grab it sometime.

Never got into Alien Soldier. It looks great and I can see why people like it but somehow it doesn't appeal to me. If you want something like Alien Soldier I can recommend Pulse Man, it's a bit less action than Alien Soldier and a bit more Mega Man tactics. But as usual, it's one of the more expensive games you can get on the system.

If you haven't already heard of it, try Super Airwolf. It's the JPN version of the game CrossFire, a vertical shmup. It's basically the same game but the JPN version actually has the awesome theme from Airwolf in the game whereas the US version (CrossFire has some very generic music).
