Anyone else notice how we get a thread like this every couple months or so?  Don't we have a sticky about it?

we get this, "what's the best printer to use", "where can I get UGC's in europe", "alternatives to UGCs", "hey VideoStoreShopper has cases individually!!!! (it doesn't)", and discussion over what content is and isn't allowed to be hosted all the time. I agree, there NEEDS to be a FAQ sticky.

And still there will be the same questions all over again. I mean we HAVE a faq for printing, labels, cases, etc. and still people ask the same questions aover and over and over again!

There isn't a single thread in the guides forum about the "best printer to use", "alternatives to ugcs", or any info about what content is and isn't allowed to be hosted. And the only way to know about VideoStoreShopper is to read through all 8 pages of the "where to buy cases" thread, which is something that's fairly unreasonable to require.

Would these same questions keep popping up? Sure, but we could still avoid redundant discussion and simply point them to the proper "newbie FAQ" thread.

I don't know what we're allowed to say about hosting these covers. Does saying ___ is legal or illegal put you into more trouble if they decide to look into what you're doing?

Speaking hypothetically.

honestly I think we shouldn't worry about it too much considering sites with greater visibility (cdcovers.cc for example) haven't ever had problems as far as I know.

As far as what content we're allowed/not allowed to host, I don't think we even have to even mention legality.

I think you need to think more of "lowest common denominator" Maybe a button on the website that says "New to The Cover Project" sort of thing, anyways I know this probably won't happen but just an idea.

This is somewhat what I mean. Have a "welcome" sticky that links to all the FAQ threads, and automatically direct new members there. Make 'em a bit more familiar with the site and such. If they have questions they can post it there where it's meant to be redundant. I'd be happy to put together the thread after finals are over, I just don't have the power to direct new members directly to the page ;)
