Are the dimensions for the Universal Game Cases exact? I'm a stickler for accuracy when printing stuff off, and I don't want any room for my artwork to shift around. Has anyone tested these dimensions with a ruler and paper? I'm not trying to be rude, but a lot of "accepted norms" I come across for different media haven't been precise.

It's been almost 2 weeks since I asked about this, so I just wanted to bump it up. How accurate are the current measurements for the Universal Game Cases?

All covers, even retail ones have a little bit of leftover space around the edges. Our covers are the same size as their retail counterparts.

Our UGC covers fill up the perfect amount of space in my opinion. You should be fine without any need for modification to the dimensions.  :)

Well, when designing DVD and Blu-Ray covers as a hobby, I had to measure most of the cases myself, specifically because the usual dimensions left space for the artwork to move around. Now, my designs are done to have as little variance as possible. That way, you never have to worry about it shifting around, if its made for a specific size to begin with, and you cut it out properly.

I just recently bought some 9mm DVD cases and I was wondering what the dimensions of those cases were according to this thread? Here is the measurements for the cases:

 Case size: 5 5/8" (Length) x 4 7/8" (Width) x 7/16" (Thickness).

      Sleeve size: 11 3/16" x 4 9/16"

Does anybody know the correct cover size for these cases? http://www.ebay.com/itm/280932999552?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

7-disc DVD case. It has the outer dimensions listed on the description, but I wasn't sure if just simply adding those up would give me an accurate total.
My DS Cover Requests: Anno 1701, A Witch's Tale, A Witch's Wish, Black Sigil, Dynasty Warriors, Flower Sun and Rain, Mage Knight Destiny's Soldier, n+, Time Ace

Holy crap, it says the spine is 72mm thick  :o

If that's true, then subtract 14mm (the thickness of a normal DVD case spine) from 72mm and you should have the number you need to widen any DVD template by.

Yeah it's a typo, it's actually 27mm (or 27.5mm)

It might not be, because it also says that it's 2 7/8" thick.  Seems odd that it'd be a typo in both units of measurement.

The text description says its twice as thick as a regular DVD case.  I think arseen is right.  I've got a load that are 27mmthick.

Look at the picture does that case look double wide or 5 times wide ;)

72mm spine would give 1+cm space per disc, and as the case has trays it would be 2+cm tray.

And it would not be first time that someone screws up with measurements.
They have typed 72mm and then converted that.

Well pics aren't what I go by, since they're often just stock photos ;)

But, I didn't see where it said twice as wide, which wold obviously make 27mm spot on ;D

I guess I'll take the gamble on a couple. I'm trying to save some valuable shelf space, and my Last Exile and Cowboy Bebop collections are a space consuming seven cases each.

Plus Last Exile discs are all in the clear DVD cases, which I want for my Sega Saturn custom covers.
