Im having trouble printing covers out for the universal game cases. I tried starting off with the FFII one here
http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=2837
(the custom one with the esper on the cover)

i looked at the guide
http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=125.0

and followed it, checking the size was ok.. it was at 3366X2100

i went through the printing options, setting the paper to 8X14, and switching it to landscape, best quality, paper to bright white, I do the full page fax print ect... i try printing: its the wrong size. It looks good but comes out too big for some reason instead of the 11.22X7 it should be i measure it and it is actually 13 1/4X 8 1/4

what the hell? should i do regular portrait orientation instead of landscape? use a different printing option instead of the general one? I could really use some help. The paper im using is a very heavy grade 8X14 legal paper that i got just for this and i only picked up about 30 sheets since they didn't sell it by the box or have much. Plus ink aint cheap. I cant be wasting tons of pages playing guess work with this. Can someone help me figure out why its not printing the right size? i followed all the directions, it doesn't make sens why its printing it out larger than the actual size of the image. i dont get it.

i cant print covers or anything without messing up horribly.... Make a black and white box the same size as the covers to keep troubleshooting until you can figure out or someone can help you.

That way you wont waste a ton of color ink

I agree w/Mick about printing w/o color until you get the problem sorted out (I use greyscale) and you might want to grab a pack of cheap 14X11 paper also.

Your problem may be the full page fax print (not sure what this is)
It may be stretching the image to fill the page.

My print options include a selection for 'best fit to page' which you will NOT want to select. (It stretches the cover to fill the page).
I choose 'original size (from DPI)' to get the correct print.

You should also try to do a 'print preview' on your screen prior to printing.
The cover should not completely fill the preview print page.

To this day I have never successfully printed with Paint.NET. Try another program?

yes i think the problem is that its doing a kinda full page print. The problem is i dont really have a good photo program on the computer thats downstairs hooked to the printer.

i think i have an OLDDD paint shop pro (like version 6 or something) on it that may work possibly.

i wonder if even MS paint would work. Any program sugestions?

the funny thing is i printed a genesis cover out a few weeks ago with no problems o_O for a regular genesis cart. I actually resized it then printed it out on an 8X10 and it seemed to work fine. Not really sure why this isnt. Maybe its the switch to legal thats jacking it up

That might be a problem... i think thats an issue i have with my cheap little HP printer. It will make a 8x11 stretch to the edges without messing it up too much but when you try with a Legel paper size it doesn't work quite right

well it is an HP but it shouldn't be a cheap one. Its an officejet pro 8500

i guess i can try mspaint, im just worried that it will print it out in poor quality or something. I'll check if it still has that old paint shop edition on it too. I just was wondering if i was misssing some step or doing something wrong.. but i guess im not

Doesn't MS paint downsize every cover to 96dpi when you open it? Or does it do this when you save it in MS paint?
2 + 3 = 23

Only when you save. I always print from MS Paint without problems.
