I have 6 boxes I will be scanning and uploading tomorrow. I have been looking around for an open source/freeware image editor, but it will take time for me to find and learn the software.  I assume that if I check raw scan, the cover gets tagged as needing work. If anyone wants to work on any of these, feel free. Otherwise, I will try to develop the skills to get the appropriate images uploaded. The boxes I have that aren't available on this site yet are

Goldeneye 007 (N64)
Aladdin (SNES)
Biker Mice From Mars (SNES)
Ken Griffey Jr's Winning Run (SNES)
Spawn (SNES)
Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (SNES)

Thanks to everyone who works on these. I received my case of cases today and already have about 20 games boxed with covers. If there is anything I need to take into consideration when scanning, please let me know. It sounds like 300dpi is the way to go.

Thanks much.

If you're looking for a freeware image editor look for Gimp or Paint.net. I heard from people who can't afford Photoshop that Gimp is just as good while Paint.net is a bit simpler to handle.

When scanning 300dpi are the way to go. Also you don't have to tear up your boxes, just fold them flat. That way you have two scans, front+spine and back+spine. When you upload the raw scans just name the files "insert-name-here"_front or _back.

What version of Goldenye do you have? PAL? The NTSC version is already on this site. The rest of your covers are highly appreciated, especially Spawn and Super Star Wars: Empire strikes back 'cause I need those :)

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and uploaded Goldeneye. It is the NTSC version. I didn't see it posted but will look again. I also have Illusion of Gaia and Wing Commander, which I had forgotten about. If the Goldeneye scan looks ok (something that can be worked with), I will start on the rest tonight. Let me know of any suggestions you might have with the scans. Hopefully they can be useful with as little work as possible.

Thanks much.

I went ahead and uploaded Spawn. I didn't do any cropping like I did with Goldeneye.
