First let me say I am in no way affiliated to this guy. I don't know him and I never met him. I'd like to though... ;)

There's a list included of every game he has. It's 670 games for $12,000 and still 5 days to go. Owning such a collection must be pretty much the best thing that could happen to a gamer :)

He's also got an auction with 66 unlicensed games...

545 licensed manuals for NES games...

and 45 unlicensed manuals

Oh my god!

That is truly an awesome collection!

I'm asking myself how high the bids will go???
They're standing at 12.300 now and still so much time to go....

Another thing I as a collcector can not understand is how the guy selling this games can do such a thing...
Such a perfect collection is invaluable!!!!!!!!!!!!

I could never sell it.... It's like selling your heart...  :o

As a regular ebayer, I saw this a few days ago. I was thinking of bidding on it until I noticed the price! :D Right now the current bid is $15,500.00 USD ($18,286.91 CAD).

If you think about it, you're paying around $23 US (27.29 CAD) per game, plus $385.00 USD for shipping.
Dispite getting every game ever made, thats kinda.......um......expensive.

Becides, while the NES had tons of games, not all games were great, and more frequently than not you'll find a game so terrible you comtomplate how it even exists. I'd say there are maybe 150 must have NES games (which is a lot more than any other system ever made). Everything else is there to look pretty. Whoever pays the 20 grand + this will end up going for, all for NES games is a fool as far as I'm concerned.

I kinda thought the same thing about the price per game.....
I guess its worth it to someone to get EVERY game... But I have about 100 NES games w/instructions and I probably averaged less than $8.00/game - that even includes the games I bought new back in the 80's and 90's.

I am not a rabid collector, and maybe he has some extremely rare games there, but I also noticed that he is selling the manuals separately.

Well, for $15K I could buy myself a new tractor.  ;D

Yep, it's way too expensive. The only appeal for me would be to own every game ever licensed.

Or donate the money to Kutaragi San so they can develop games that justify the $599 price-tag ;)

The current price is way over the top IMHO. The only individual who would get their monies worth is a collector but
1. They are not boxed in original packaging and
2. The manuals aren't included.

This significantly lessens the intrinsic dollar value for a collector .... even if he wants them to replace carts with bad labels etc. So we end up with someone buying them because he/she wants a complete collection and that's about it... in which case I suppose if yu have the cash and price is no barrier.   ::)

Personally .... I'd rather buy a complete SNES or N64 collection than the older NES. And I certainly wouldn't pay that amount of money for them either.

Whoahhh a complete SNES games collection would be truly delightful....  :D

That would be more then 1000 I suppose if you include the japanese and around 800 just for NA releases...

Man that would need a big shelf if all lined up in universal game cases....

But first I have to get to see such a case in reality.  ;D

Oh boy, a complete SNES collection, that would be like a dream come true.
I'm satisfied when I just complete MY personal "complete" SNES collection with all the games I want :)

No, TRACTOR!

I make my kid go to in-state school = college is college, but a tractor is something I can use.  ;D
