Propably rejected because of qual issues.

Can't remember about Bigfoot but on the Turtles 3 cover the front was generally unclean.

We really should have somewhere to store covers that arent up to quality standards. Theres a good few people who would be more than happy to use that cover the way it is rather than not have one at all and who knows how long it could be before someone uploads a better one. I had Akumu put together a couple covers for me that I imagine didnt make it due to quality standards. We probably miss out on alot of covers that would be very helpful to fill up the games that still need covers.

we've talked about a "rejected covers" folder before but we ultimately decided not to host them. If someone wanted to host the rejected covers on box.net or something and provide links to them i think that would be fine.

I also agree to this.  I made some pretty good covers for 32x games that can't be uploaded here because they're 250 dpi isntead of 300, but they still look awesome printed out, so yes, I also support this.

........they're 250 dpi isntead of 300......

Why didnt you just make them in 300dpi in the first place?  The reason why we have the 300dpi rule is to have consistant quality and so it prints out the right size (without adjusting) to fit the case.

This sub-forum is not for discussing such stuff but for presenting new covers.

By the way we had this discussion going on for years now. It is the way it is. Make a cover good enough and you can download it from the site "forever" if not then not. It's that simple!

You can always ask the person who did a cover to send it to you. I'm sure he still has it. If he reworks it and resubmits the cover it is also a matter of course that we will quality check it again!

People alsways forget that we are not here to host as many covers as fast as we can BUT to host covers as good looking as we can.

You can always download "covers" at freecovers.net or the likes as well if you are desperate.

Darkman for the NES; Made from scratch using a low res scan of the original box as a base. Ended up just using the image from the original movie poster.

That's agreat cover. Good work Brandon!!!

A place to store covers that aren't up to our quality standards? That would really defeat the purpose of having these standards. Also, there is a place for these sub-par covers, it's called cdcovers.cc. You will find lots of stuff there that will never be hosted here ;) If we deliberately start hosting covers that are below our standards this site will one day be just another one of a gazillion of coversites. As tiktektak said, our purpose is to provide the best covers not the most.

Everyone is welcome to share links to his covers that were rejected due to quality. If other people are in need of these covers and decide they want to download them anyway then so be it and everyone is happy.

shenske, you had saved my life! I saw a fully boxed "Burger Time" game but it seemed it was wet and then dried and had one sticker that cannot be removed without ruining the box.

Are you sure that the movie poster you used was really high res?

I supppose it is good enough but on close inspection you see some artifacts.

Whipped up an NTSC Bucky O'Hare cover for myself using the PAL cover from here and a label scan. If anyone is interested in touching up the front among other little things, this should be good enough to pass.

Worked on a custom cover for NFL on the NES. Had to create it from scratch.

@supericeboy

Nice cover  :)
I think it would benefit from moving the Nintendo seal on the front away from the edges. If you look at other NES covers the seal doesn't touch the edge (in fact its pretty far from the edge).  I'm assuming you duplicated your front NFL logo for the spine right?  The outer glow seems too heavy on the spine of the NFL logo. And last but not least ........ Is that Braylon Edwards? He was 5 when this game came out, lol
Like i said before though, nice cover  :)

EDIT:
Here is some good art that would work for the front cover.  The players are "time appropriate" and the painted style fits with how the original cover was.
