Okay so I took a close look at all of the covers and most of them were nice. Some were really great like the Legend of Kage, The Wheel of Fortune, Hogans Alley or Space Shuttle, some were on the borderline like Renegade.

Unfortunately some didn't make it. The sky shark front was much too pixelated as were the karts on the R.C. Pro Am cover and the heads of the players on Hoops.

Thanks for all your efforts though!

It's always difficult to work with bad quality sources and for that your efforts are excellent! You know if you had the time I could scan my Renegade box in for you in 600dpi.... ;) Only if you want to cause in it's current state the front may not be perfect but good enough for the site. :)

Regards Seb

yeah, a better scan for the front of renegade would be very helpful, then i can make it look much better

As I was at it I scanned in the whole box(front,back,spine)... It's all up in the raws NES folder(600dpi uncompressed tiffs).

 ;)

Still finish your work Ragnarok. I'll compare the two covers and the best quality will win.... ;D

i made two version, one with stars and one without, just because i like it much better without the stars.

and for some reason, there is no TM on the spine logo or the back logo. kinda weird, but thats how it was on the original.

Ragnarok2103:

I see that you uased Vecror Magic for the from art right?

Give me until the end of the day tomorrow to see if i can give you something that looks a bit better. The cover looks great as it is, but maybe we can make it look a bit better.

thanks. what did you do to make it so clean and straight? i was trying to rotate it and then use the little box tool in order to make the straight lines, but it ended up not really working to well for me

1. I looked for the best image I could find online, then I resized it to match your cover..
2. Once it was the right size, I rotated the image to make the line horizontal/vertical instead of angled.
3. Then I traced all the colors using mostly the brush tool with a sharp, square edge..
4. Did the motion trails using the smudge tool.
5. Once the image was clean, I rotated it back to the proper angle.

Took about 3 hours or so to complete.

thanks. i tried to do it the same way you did, but i ended up losing track of the rotations. it looks like you used the front from the gameboy advance case thats on here, which i only found after i had uploaded them. but seriously thanks it looks much better and much more original now.

i put the new front on and re-uploaded them.

I used a mid quality NES cover scan I found on ebay as the base.. But of course it had to be completely retraced.

I need to get the Scandinavian\Euro art for Popeye, it had real artwork instead of the pixelart
