That Ninja Gaiden II cover looks great, except for the tear spot on the dragon's face. Any chance you could fix that up? It's been in very version of every NG2 cover I've seen since they all come from the same scan.

It's unfortunately almost impossible to fix.... If you manage to fix that spot lumberjack and make it look like it's original and nice you are a true artist....
One would have to redraw parts of the dragon's nose and mouth to accomplish that and this is really really difficult in my oppinion.... Especially if you want to make it look really nice.... Could be that it's better to leave the spot alone....

Here's the list of covers I still have to finish:

Caveman Games
Cool World
Mach Rider
Milan's Secret Castle
Nightshade
Three Stooges
Wall Street Kid
Young Indiana Jones Adventures

I'll add more if I remember them

Coming up soon...

Adventure Island Classic - In The Pacific

This is the original European Adventure Island I. It says 'Classic' on the front, so I take it there was a version with a different cover before this one.

To my surprise, Susumu Matsushita's name (and, presumably, company, Light & Shadows) is even listed on the cover.

You have a cover for Wall Street Kid? HAHA oh wow I recall that game. Now if I get a cover for it I wont be able to sell it! ;D

By the way, does anyone hae a Panic Resturant box, manual, or the game itself? I need to re-create the label on mine.

Hey Dante,

The small Nintendo logo on the lower spine was there mainly as a placeholder for the publisher logo, unless it's actually a Nintendo published game. The lower guideline is there for the bottom of the logo. Just FYI

I bought it at Vintage Stock for I think 3 bucks complete with manual. Never played it though when I was younger.

OK. In Mega Man 3's case, it was actually published by Nintendo in Europe (it even shows so on the spine - no mention of Capcom whatsoever).

Adventure Island's spine only shows the Hudson Soft logo, though.

Thanks for the heads up.

Not a problem. Just here to help.

Glad to have another cover maker who has the PAL side covered, it's hard enough for me to get US NES games with boxes to scan, much less PAL or Famicom ones.

Welcome to the team!

Just uploaded Mega Man 2.

Mega Man 2

http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/Dante_Ali.retail.nes_nes-megaman2-eu_eu.jpg

A list of things I did to make the cover better:
- Made the screenshots from scratch using sprite rips and direct feed screenshots from emulators.
- Made some of the text from scratch using Arial with varying dot sizes.
- Cleaned up some of the scratches.

There is some difference between the the third screenshot and the one that was originally on the cover. In the finished game, the forest at the bottom of the screenshot looks different to that of the box screenshot. I think these screenshots were taken from a pre-release version, hence the differences.

I didn't bother replicating these differences - I just sticked with the screenshot from the actual game ROM.

Today I bought some complete NES games at gamestores in austria(some were cheap others NOT).....

It was time to push my NES collection a little bit. Had just ten games mostly uncased....

So that's what I got:

Super Mario Bros. 2 - Small Box - English rear
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves - German rear
Wizard and Warriors - English rear
Defender of the Crown - English rear
Shadowgate - German rear
Castlevania - English rear
Ghosts 'N Goblins - English rear
Swords and Serpents - English rear
Solomon's Key 2 - German rear
Little Samson - German rear

The region of the carts should be all EU - PAL or DE - PAL.... I suppose some PAL DE boxes weren't translated from english to german so they look exactly the same as the US boxes.....
I'm not sure allthough because the NES isn't my area of expertise....

I'll try to work on them myself(but some require quite some skill due to age and bad handling which could be beyond my capabilities)....

Lumberjack42,

noticed something odd on the Rush 'n Attack cover.

See picture below:

Looks like you cut the logo in pieces and forgot to re-align one of the pieces. This occurs both on the front, back and spine.

Also, there's a slight scratch on the back (at the top) that would be really easy to clean up.

Other than that, great job.

Damn, that's messed up. Still, you have to agree that it was probably not supposed to look like that. I can't think of any stylistic reason why a logo would look as if someone took a scissor, cut-out a portion and moved it somewhat to the right.

Anyway, if it's supposed to look like that then I figure it should look that way on an UGC cover too.
