Alright, mainly to see if I could, I took Satoshi Matrix's Super Mario Bros. 3 cover, and I'm completely recoloring and restoring EVERYTHING, including Mario himself!  Here's a preview.  Keep in mind that at full-rez 300dpi, it retains the exact same quality....except for the seal of quality.  I need a higher-rez pic of that..

I can email you the raws I used. Lucky for me I NEVER clean out my computer, those raws date back to January 9! Keep in mind at that time, the NES Project was still a pipe dream of mine, and all efforts went into simply getting it done. No doubt that it can be impoved upon. Whats your email and I'll send you the raws.

PS, does anyone have a scan of Double Dragon 1 for NES? Eightcell had been working on it, but since his last post was on May 9th, I think he's fallen off the face of the planet  ;D

Well, today all 300 universal combo cases arrived safely in two ginormous boxes (one is like two boxes together) and it looks like I can start casing games right away. I compared it with my very first cover that I was using for Tengen's Tertris, and as thought, that cover seems to be an earlier model. All the insides are different, though both cases keep the same dimentions. Why am I posting this here? Well because at nearly 120 NES games, it's by far my biggest collection i need to case. Now I'm going to go into overdrive making as many original and custom covers as I can. the action is finally heating up! Cheers!

Well, for those who actually pay attention to my meager posts, heres a mock-up of my own custom Mega Man NES Covers. These are just the fronts as I haven't desided how I want to approach the backs yet. So, they me what you think, or not, either way.

Mega Man 1

Mega Man 2

Mega Man 3

Mega Man 4

Mega Man 5

Mega Man 6

They're all great. Really, I couldn't decide which one looks best as they're all awesome.

Good job and interesting, but I don't think simply placing a different Megaman infront of the visible old boxart is the best idea, espically with the clash of art styles as your MM1, 3 and 4 are by Inafune, 2 and 6 are from the Megaman comic and 5 is from one of the various Rockman mangas.

I much more like the idea eightcell had to create English versions of the vastly superior Rockman complete works covers. All that would need to be done is replace Rockman with Megaman  and a little resizing and boarder art. Then for the back, a complete rewrite of the boxes.

I think that's the best way to go, personally. What do you think lumberjack? I dont mean to crap on your work I mean I can tell it must've taken some time and effort, but I just think there are better ways of doing the set.  Oh, and as discussed a few months ago: make sure when your doing the spines that they match. The idea is to make Megaman 1-6 like a box set of DVDs or something...so they all fit together.  How do you like the idea of working togehter on this? If I did the backs for each and had you do the fronts and possibly the spines and then we add the two togehter? I just want to try to modernize the covers for the Megaman games as they evolved in artstyle and such.

If you want to try and finish eightcell's idea, go ahead. I won't bogart someones work, I would rather wait and see what eightcell has up their sleeve. I'm just going to finish my idea for a custom cover and then get back to scanning and cleaning up the boxes i have at home.

BTW, I've found it's just too much work to use the PS1 covers at such a low resolution. As to the disparagy in artwork, there is, unfortunately , not a lot to work with on the internet and I don't have any Mega Man art books to scan from.

If you're going to be using small pieces of artwork, I recommend this program:

http://rapidshare.com/files/34900613/PhotoZoom.Pro.v2.2.4.rar

With PhotoZoom Pro, you can resize a picture and have it not look absolutely horrible.  Very useful!

This sounds awesome, I'd like it as well, but it says no file is found. Can you reupload it (try megaupload instead of rapidshare...trust me)

 The correct link is: http://rapidshare.de/files/34900613/PhotoZoom.Pro.v2.2.4.rar

but it was reported for piracy.
