Yeah it's nice to see akumu pop now and then and presenting covers. Such people are very welcome here. :) I just hope they also pass closer inspection.

I assume posting the covers here will get them on the site?

This is a custom cover for the Famicom game Getsu Fuuma Den. I have a repro of it in English so that's why I used the NES template instead of the Famicom one.

It may, it may not. Several custom covers have been made that aren't officially posted for one reason or another. That's why most of us have mediaifre/box.net accounts: to share what we've made.

Thats funny! I actually made that cover! I got the artwork from the guy over at The NES Dump and put that together for him. I guess he uploaded it. Small internet world. ;)

I actual am affiliated with thenesdump.com. He said he got the original artwork from a "random guy" lol  That's awesome that it's one of us!  Honestly I"m not surprised though.

However, I did modify the cover to add in the NES on the spine since that was missing when I got the prototype. I'm OCD and needed it to have all my UGCs look uniform. Might as well have the option of 2 instead of 1 if the cover already exists on the site.

Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest

Castlevania 3: Dracula's Curse

Whoever did the Castlevania 3 cover already on the site did a horrendous job, even by the old standards. Half the Konami logo is faded out and it's unclean and battered.

Yeah, the only reason why I didnt add it was because I figured chances are the majority of people who bought a complete copy probably wouldnt be using UGC's and figured it would look wierd with the spine if they stuck it next to their original NES boxes.

Oh and the link to the Banana Prince Label is the same link as the first cover.

Can someone post a list of NES covers ON THE SITE that need to be redone to get them up to current standards?

Funny enough that cover actually was done by Akumu himself. ;D

Is it really that bad? This cover should be actually looking quite nice considering the time I posted it on our site.

EDIT: Took a look at it. Looks clean, sharp and high res but it seems there were some problems with artifacts when scanned in.

Im the one who scanned that box and sent it to akumu when I first found this place along with a couple others. I only scanned it at 300dpi so I guess they were not the greatest, as where now I scan everything at 600dpi. I could always dig out the box and rescan it sometime. The same could be said for Kabuki Quantum Fighter which were my scans aswell.
