holy crap. Are you positive that's an officially made Famicom game? For several years I was under the impression there was no Famicom version of TMNT1. If you own the game, can you post a shot of the cartridge? I didn't think Konami made a version for Japan!

They released it 1 year before it came out in the US even. I'm writing a full retrospective on TMNT on HG101 so you'll see more about it there. But yeah, official. Catalog number is KDS-GN

TMNT1 in Japan is called Gekikame Ninja Den (or whatever), TMNT II is called TMNT and TMNT III is TMNT 2 in Japan. Tournament Fighters is called Mutant Warriors (but I don't think is on Famicom). Turtles in Time also has no number in Japan.
