I totally forgot I had the box for this. This is another one of the random boxes I got from Jonesat that I dont actually own the game. I have Battletoads Double Dragon but for the SNES. It was fun to whip up tho. |

I'm looking through some of my old cover ideas and am going to start finishing some of them. Does anyone have an interest in me finishing this Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels cover? |

You did an excellent job with that custom font! Since you're half done it, you might as well finish it...but I myself don't think a repro of Super Mario Bros. 2 should be called by its American All-Stars name. I think you should also make an alternative version with the original "Super Mario Bros. 2" title intact. It shouldn't be too hard to make the spine look different enough from the other SMB2/Mario USA. I just think that the Japanese Mario 2 ought to be honored with a reproduction cover with its original name intact, and if anything a custom cover should be made for the other Mario 2 retitled "Super Mario USA" as it was known in Japan. I realize I'm probably in the minority here, so please try to cope with my Japanese obsession ::) I blame Final Fantasy with the US screwing up the numbering by skipping titles. Its only in recent years that they've been adopting the original Japanese numbers in the west. |

I was going to post something along the lines as "Nice Cover, strange background", but after reading Satoshi Matrix's post, I have to agree. As much as I would love to see a cover for the Japanese "Super Mario 2", it was not until Super Mario All-Stars when they called Super Mario Bros 2 JAP "The Lost Levels". Technically, if it is playable on the NES, then it's not quiet "lost" anymore, but found. I think it would be great to have a cover for both "Super Mario Bros 2" and "Super Mario USA" covers as I too believe we were shafted out of a great game. Or atleast semicolons Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt / World Class Track Meet Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels Super Mario Bros. 2: USA Super Mario Bros. 3 Just a suggestion. Another thing, and I know this is probably because this was so long ago, but strange background! Just thinking about how well that would look in the collection of already completed and printed Mario collection |

Ehh i'v already made Famicom covers for both Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario USA so i just wanted to do something different. Since we never got an individual release of the game stateside i thought it would be best to call it by the only name is was given "The lost Levels" in Mario All-Stars. Oh just a FYI, the front logo was made in illustrator and i just based it from the front of the SMAS box. About the background. I tried to make the lost levels cover look similar to the small piece of art from the front of Mario Allstars mixed with the FDS release of SMB2. It looks like the "cover" on SMAS has a gradient from a light yellow to a yellow green. When i did that i thought it looked bad so I changed the yellow to blue. The gradient still looks odd and i don't intend to keep it that way. I just figured before i come up with a better alternative for the background i should see if anyone is interested. Since you have offered to help me with some write ups for some Famicom titles in the past, would you mind coming up with a write up for the back Satoashi_Matrix? Or if anyone has an idea of what the text should be on the back just let me know :) |
