My first post.
EDIT: ADDED DOWNLOAD LINKS TO FINISHED COVERS
I've submitted five covers:

Used wallpapers I had collected for this. DOWNLOAD:http://files.filefront.com/6583281

DOWNLOAD:http://files.filefront.com/6583283
Used Capcom design book for the image on the front. Applied logo. The back is a moddified version of kracker624's which you can find here: http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=30.0

DOWNLOAD:http://files.filefront.com/6583282
The cover took a bit of work.  I used the full image from the Capcom design book in the foreground and an old piece of paper with nice texture that i had scanned as a background. Applied logo. The back is a moddified version of kracker624's which you can find here: http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=30.0

DOWNLOAD:http://files.filefront.com/6583428
Again I used the Capcom Design book for the cover and the line up on the back. Applied logo.

I cut out the sign from the original and extended the post down.  Spent a bit trying to find a new background that not only worked but wasn't bad quality.

Distorted images bother me, I just have to crop it or make it work somehow like on the mvc2 cover.

Also I wanted to keep the spine text uniform so they look good together on my shelf (and I also don't have to distort any logos this way)

EDIT:  Thanks KaiserWAVE.

EDIT: more finished covers

now THAT'S how you introduce yourself :) I have to say I absolutely LOVE your Ikaruga and Power Stone covers. Seaman looks quite cool, too. Seeing your style I'm really looking forward to your REZ and CvS covers. Again, great work. Absolutely beautiful!

*******
EDIT: Cannon Spike looks awesome. As does CvS. Kinda looks like an alternate version of the SVC Chaos artwork which makes it even cooler. And Dan my man on the back cover...I applaud you eightcell.
If I may make a suggestion though, I don't know if you plan to make a cover for CvS Pro. If you do I'd like to see your current CvS back cover as the front cover of CvS Pro, as Joe and Dan were first playable here and only appeared in the ending of CvS. I'm just anal about that, and seeing what you're capable of just do whatever you want. So far everything turned out great!

eightcell:

Welcome to the site. Those covers look great!

Do you happen to have the original covers for these games, especially Ikaruga?

I'll will be making a Pro version and I'll do just that.

Thanks!

I do not have a good copy of the art for Ikaruga for Dreamcast, I was thinking of doing an alternate one with the Gamecube cover.
If you happen to have it and can get it to me I'll take a shot at it.

As for the others I do have an alternate version of Rival Schools based on the Japanese cover (using the original art like the Powerstone cover), I'll be doing the pro version of CvS as mentioned above.  I tried a few things with Seaman but nothing really worked so I had to improvise.  I don't like Cannon Spike's real cover, it's just a mish-mash of various art, same goes for the American cover of CvS.

Those are very well down, welcome to TCP.

Thank you!

I'll take requests, can't promise I'll do them but I'll take them.

few more to add to my to do list:
Puzzle Fighter
The King of Fighters games
pretty much anything Capcom

I think this project is great.  I have all my GBA games in DS cases now. I would like to do cases for NES, Saturn, PS1 and Sega CD at some point in the future as well.

This might not be the place to ask but: I have a number of Game Boy games and I've tried packing them into DS cases but the case bulges a bit, is this unavoidable, am i doing something wrong or is there a mod for the case to make the carts fit?

How come 100 Universal cases are $42 if they only cost $0.19 and $0.27 each? (is that with shipping included?) And with 100 can you choose to get like 50 black and 50 clear? I'm am most likely going to order a case, and if I can succesfully, easily and satifactorily mod it to fit NES carts I'll start making cases for them as well.  (I have a number of original NES boxes still so at least the first few won't be hard to find.)

Mediashelving only sells in 100 case boxes. (That is where I purchased mine from) and they charge $42.00 + shipping. (so they are all the same color)

I have not ordered from the video shopper, but they do list the cases @ .19 & .27 and sell them individually so I suppose you could purchase 50 of each.
It appears now I should have shopped around, but then I don't know what they would have charged for shipping/handling....... (but I have ordered from mediashelving twice and gotten good, fast service)

Apparently you can modify them to fit NES carts, but I have not done this. I have been busy with my N64 carts.

The reason I had asked previously about the original covers is that I am interested in getting all my dreamcast games in original CD cases, (not DVD cases) and also scanning manuals. I am in the process of scanning all my original cases and manuals. I have well over 100 PS1 games w/manuals I am scanning. I have no desire to convert them to DVD cases, however, I will upload the original artwork for those that want to modify them to DVD.

Thanks for the info.  I'll probably just order from Mediashelving then.

I called a friend of mine who I thought had Ikaruga to ask if he would scan it but he said he sold it a bit ago.

eightcell if you need the covers for the KOF games I can send them to you. I have scanned and uploaded the raw scans of  KOF games for Dreamcast ( Dreammatch 1999 - 2002, except 2000)some time ago, all Japanese versions.

As for Capcom (fighting) games I could provide PAL versions of Street Fighter 3: Double Impact and Street Fighter 3: Third Strike.

If you need any of these I'll send them to you, however, I'd rather see you making more of those beautiful custom covers instead ;)

Hey thanks for asking for me.    :)
I will find them eventually.
TheValeman talked me into getting a Dreamcast just recently, so I am picking up games as I find them, but about half so far don't have manuals. (I got Rayman 2 & Hydro-Thunder (disc only) for $2. ea. :)  <- I am a CAG )

Thanks yeah, I will take any good scans i can get. Never know when something will be usefull.

The backs and the logos are the biggest hurdles ussually. Getting something with a good resolution for either unless I have the boxart myself is a crap shoot, and unfortunatley at the moment most of my original cases are in another state, while my scanner is here. I'd also like to keep the "1-2 player" vmu compatible" boxes as accurate as possible.

I find a fair amount of logos I can use at brandsoftheworld.com but they are mostly company logos not specific games (though they do have some...)

And I'll be adding SF3 (both versions) to my list.

I'm clearing out some web space I have to see if I can provide direct downloads for finished ones until they are posted, might anyone know of any free file hosting sites for jpg's or archives that are about 5 MB or under?

nice job on the cover... i dont wanna sound like i'm trying start anything, but the back of Maverl Vs. Capcom 1 & 2 look very like mine with just a different front cover & spine. I had the same idea.... lol. Keep up the good work eightcell.
