You could always just get a Super Famicom. A loose system shouldn't set you back more than $10 (I bought mine for 210 yen), and you will be able to use your old controllers, power cable and A/V cables. You might have to use an RGB scart cable if you play on a PAL TV set, but you shouldn't be using anything else anyway. ;)
I don't think getting a converter is any easier or cheaper, and that way you'll still end up with a horribly squashed 50Hz experience.

Won't i need to use a step down transformer if i buy a local machine? Also want to keep my quantity of consoles down - i'm already in trouble! ;) Might see if i can get a modded one out there that will happily play PAL too - then i can box mine up and put it in the loft.
Kaiser - PM me anything specific you are after - not going until the 11th July - I'm only there for a couple of days, then head on to Beijing, which i understand is not so good for games/etc.
Sorry i hijacked the thread - best get back on topic before i get us all in trouble :D

Well, like I said - the art for Dead Dance is extremely limited, to say the least. I think the art I used came from mobygames, or gamefaqs - whichever was at the highest resolution. Nowhere else had scans, as far as I could see.
As for using VectorMagic - I have never been able to get VectorMagic to make an image usable unless it was a very simple image to begin with. Anything with complex shading, like this Dead Dance cover, would just be completely ruined by VectorMagic. I just found the Noise Reduction feature in Photoshop to be much more efficient that VM.
As for using the JP product number, barcode, etc, I went with it because I was using the Japanese name/images. That's pretty much all that was. I figure if someone imported the game (Which is a good choice, considering 'Tuff E Nuff' had a ton of content cut from it) they'd probably want it to go with the rest of their collection. (At least, that how I do my collection...)

You're dead on. That's why I requested my games in the NTSC template whether they had a US release or not. I'm sorry if I got you in any trouble here the7k.

Here is a high-resolution scan of the Dead Dance front boxart (200dpi) (836px × 1497px)
http://image.www.rakuten.co.jp/tentoumushi/img10392465977.jpeg
Tentoumushi has tons of great boxart scans - unfortunately, they only have front box scans.
You can find lots of great boxart by incrementing/decrementing the number of the image file.
For instance:
Go to this site https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/misc.html and add 'make numbered list of links' to your bookmark bar. Then go to the Dead Dance image URL and click on the 'make numbered list of links' link you just bookmarked.
You then get something like this:
Run 10392465977 from ( 10392465977 ) to ( 10392465977 ) ( Pad with zeroes to maintain length)
You can reduce/insert the number adjacent to 'from' or 'to' and find lots of great boxart that way. So you can browse from 10392465977 to (say) 10392465999 - if additional images exist in that range, they will pop up in the new window.
Hope I explained myself well - if it's not intelligible let me know.
