AppleQueso:

So basically I'm expected to just notice that my cover got rejected and be suddenly be magically aware of the specific criteria that my submission didn't meet.

All I've gotten so far is a needly cryptic comment about needing to invest more time or something. What is wrong that couldn't have been addressed when I actually posted them over a month and a half ago?

Yeah, I have no worries on the Robotrek covers. The cover art I used was from Arseen poster scans which were huge so quality is not gonna be an issue. Did you have a chance to take a look at the EVO cover? Thats the one Im not sure about. It is good quality, just not sure its good enough but thats for you to decide. ;)

It's not like you're waiting to notice your gas supply has been turned off, or your phone line is down - lets not forget it's just a hobby site - people have lives outside of here, and it's been the holiday season.

If we set up a rejected Cover folder, rather than expecting someone to tell you whats wrong, you could keep an eye on the folder for any of your own covers, and then investigate as I said above.  As for them being subitted a while ago - there haven't been many admins about recently - and Tik has been the one clearing the majority of uploads - it sometimes take a while.

Filler post to move to next page  ;D

Tiktektak has said before on multiple occasions that he doesn't think this is actually worth doing, for whatever reason.

It's not that "it's not worth doing", it's more that it takes long enough already for the guys to QC the covers and get them on the site, to add in contacting each member about what's wrong with a submission would take forever.

I think that maybe a temporary repository on the server for covers that didn't make it might be a good idea - so if it doesn't make it, you'll find the cover dumped in there for say a month -  You can then go back and check all the usual stuff (UPC, legible text, scan quality, etc, etc) and if you can't find anything wrong but want to know why it didn't make it you can post a link and the rest of the contributors can critique it.  Only needs to be a directory in the raws folder - anyone think this is a good plan?

YES!!!

And I think that if the covers would be put for public scrutiny it would ease the Cover Admins job help improve cover quality. I know it would let people to nab the covers in advance, and that conflicts against the sites policy.

I know BadChad has done many covers that look nice, but not have been good enough to pass, but might have been good enough for me to use. And despite for many as polite as possible requests he hasn't shares them outside the que for the most parts. AND I WANT THOSE!

And these covers by Akumu would have been nice to have:
Where these even ever put up for an approval?
