Simply put, that's not an accurate depiction of how many covers there are that do indeed have the cartridge number there. Out of the ones i downloaded at least 8 have it there.

I created the template with the option to only put the product number on the back gradient on the bottom banner. I believe you are mistaken of seeing the product number on the front. What you may be seeing is the "sold by" text on the front gradient on the bottom banner. If you are convinced that some covers show the product number on the front of the cover please tell me which one.

I suppose we should just ignore the noob. I mean come on he wants to tell me who has been in this project for years how most of the covers look. ;D Did you think about this for just a minute newb? I checked so many vertical covers prior to upload that I dare to say that it is NOT common to put the product number on the front gradient. POINT

noob? seriously. do you know how long i've been here? before the project even had a website i contributed to this. grow up if you are really gonna start that argument.
shenske: from recent memory the yoshi's island vertical case has it in both spaces. also as a moot point, i think it looks better to have it there than just a "sold by" with no company logo after it for the nintendo made games, although having another nintendo logo would just make it look stupid, haha.
edit: also, in your template it appears in both places. the front and back gradients.

Yoshi's Island doesn't have it on the front. It just the normal "sold by"
No it is not in both places on my template. The layer may share the same name (it was originally a duplicated layer so i could have the same size text) but the actual text on the template only says "sold by".
This is kind of a stupid debate though. ALL the vertical covers on the site don't have the product number on the front so there is no need to go against consistency with any future covers. We can just drop this as this is the forum for presenting covers, not debating an existing template. If you would like to continue this talk then you may PM me.
