Great news. You could go through the cover sections to see what's missing but I guess except the N64 boxes you could scan them all.

If I scan those boxes and manuals.... Should I just upload them via the upload cover page?

The covers would need some editing I think because some of them are old and worn... The problem is I now how to use a scanner but I don't know anything about graphical editing or things like that....

For the manuals... Should I just scan them and make a pdf out of the scans? Or what editing do these need?

I've done a scan of Super Double Dragon just for testing purposes...

This link is a 1/10 resolution image of the scan.... Would this be allright as a raw scan?

If you've scanned it at 300dpi I guess it should be alright. You can always test it and send Snowcone a PM that you've uploaded a raw scan that he could have a look at, just to be sure.

If you scan them like that at 300 dpi, I think they could easily be edited to covers.
(I know that is all we need for the N64 covers).
front - back - spine

Ok I'll scan it like that at 300 dpi(the example was scanned at 600 dpi and its resolution reduced 1/10).... The only problem about it that I have is that I need to destroy my covers(SNES) to do so...  Hopefully when I get my hands on some universal game case covers that won't matter anymore!  :)

STOP!!! ACHTUNG! HALT!  BITTE!

You do not have to destroy your covers.....
You can simply scan the front, the back, and the spine and have 3 raw uploads.
To create the universal case cover, each scan is cleaned up and resized, then all three scans are put together to create the cover.
I hate to see you destroy the original boxes

Ok today in the evening the story begins....

I'll just destroy them... *g* Because the quality of the scans gets better if I rip the cover open and then unfold it on the scanner and put a big and heavy book on it. If I just fold it and put the book on it and scan it it looks not that good....

Besides... I'd love to try photoshop myself.... Just can't wait to see the raw scans being made into beautiful covers.... :) But on the other hand I had a look at photoshop some months ago when I had a graphical designer girlfriend... Oh my gosh that's not easy to work with... All these layers and tools.... *ugh*   ???

Well, I really hate to see you destroy them, however, I destroyed some of my N64 boxes for the cause as well.
I use photoshop and its not that difficult. I rarely use much more than the clone tool and the paintbrush to clean/touchup the covers. Once cleaned then resize them, assemble them and then use some of the enhancements to brighten/enrich the colors, etc.

Remember, you will have to separate the raw scan into three sections because the front, rear and spine all need to be sized individually before combining. (at least this is how I do the N64 covers)
(I am not sure how they are creating the SNES covers)

Good luck.  :)

Same method for SNES covers too
