Is this spam, or a real person? I don't understand the domain for this user's email address. - Doom, Admin

As long as he doesn't link to any advertising I think it's legit. - KaiserWAVE

Yep, not a bot. Well at least as far as I can tell... ;D

It's good to be here. I've been collecting for a few years now (mostly vintage). Most of the old games are loose carts, so it was a great relief to find this site a few months ago. My collection looks much better, and is much better protected.  I've also been motivated to try making my own covers. I posted one last night. I haven't seen it up, so I'm hoping it didn't get lost somewhere in the interwebz....

Isn't it a bit sad how paranoid we've all become?

I don't even understand it. It's not like this is a heavily trafficked site - we're just a small community and I doubt these "penis pill pushers" and other spammers are even getting one sale from this site.

Anyway, welcome. Sorry you had to deal with the witch hunts that have been going on lately.

I'm sick of spam and I'm sick of banning people. In my time here, I've seen spammers with posts like "hi", "hello", etc. The email address was unexpected, but it didn't mean anything.

At a forum I used to moderate, me and the head admin used to just google search weird new members who registered. It was a slow place, so naturally most of them were bots.

Some of the stuff we found in our google hunts were pretty funny though, I remember one that actually filled out an entire profile field, almost all of it was total nonsense, like Austin, TX being his favorite food.

I'm not really criticizing the response: it's only natural. I just think it's sad that this place has become such a watering hole for spam bots.

I would agree that Doom's query was without malice. No worries. ;)
