Hi, new here.

Just wanted to point out a mistake for Final Fantasy X-2 for the PS2.

The custom NTSC cover says Playstation rather than Playstation 2 on the top and side.

That is not a mistake... it was formatted to fit the Universal Game Case which is the only widely available SNES case out there with a sleeve for inserts of this type.

Not to thread-jack, but: Snowcone -- I haven't received a response to my last few PMs. Have you received them? Please get back to me. Thanks.

That can be confusing. Exceptions were made for "Original Covers" modified to fit the UGC cases as these are the only commercially available sleeve type cases that fit these older games.

Are you printing on cardboard and folding replacement boxes? I considered investigating that at one point but the UGC are pretty sturdy and keep the games safer. In these cases "Original Cover" has come to designate that it attempts to recreate the original cover in a new form factor as opposed to a custom cover which might use completely different artwork etc.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
"Original cover" is more like a relict from the early days of this site. It meant that the cover uses the original retail cover which has been modified to fit in the UGCs. With time we replaced "original cover" with the label "retail cover" to prevent any confusion. So right now we use "retail cover" and "custom cover" to categorize the covers. So when you see a cover being labeled as original it means it uses the retail artwork.

READ => THINK => WRITE

Tik are you as rude with people IRL as you are on the forums?

Clearly the other admins felt the title "Original Cover" was confusing enough that they changed it to "Retail Cover".

It was I who originally suggested that I believe. And now I feel old, despite that post being mere months ago.
I know it was confusing to me when I first came here, because original cover could mean it's someone's original idea for a cover.
Could you possibly change it to "Retail Cover" or something?
