I have my collection alphabetically, but then when it comes to instances like this, I just put them in their proper order. I don't find it off-putting having Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time before Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, or UEFA Euro 2008 inbetween FIFA 08 and FIFA 09, or 2010 FIFA World Cup between FIFA 10 and FIFA 11.

As most people do, and I don't fault them for it or anything, I simply prefer my method. Actually, alphabetical order is what I use for my movies, since again, the UPCs are everywhere and don't seem to organize anything in any order. And with sequels, I put them in proper order, one right next to the other. I have Dark Knight right after Batman Begins and Batman: Gotham Knight, instead of separated by all the "C"s.

that's really cool and interesting actually.
Didn't realize there was such a pattern in the UPCs. I always thought it was random. So do you not worry about separating based on console? Like you'll have dreamcast games stuck between ps2 games and whatnot?
Seraph Man:
Well, my Gamecube games are intermixed with my Wii games, and my GB, GBC, GBA, and DS games are intermixed, but they're separate from each other. When I buy the UGC, my cartridges will be separate from the disk based and the portable games. I haven't yet decided if I should intermix my Xbox 360 games and my PC games with my GCN and Wii games, but since I only have a couple of games for either (I'm fairly new to the world of Microsoft consoles, and most of my games for both Xbox 360 and PC are from the XBLA and Steam respectively), I'm not rushing to make that decision. I may, at a later date, decide to separate every game first by console, then UPC number, but for now I'm happy with how it's set up.
I'd add a picture to show you, but I don't have a working camera and I don't want to drive this thread anymore off topic.

Unless there's something I'm missing, I'm pretty sure that all of these covers:

http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=834
http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=835

should be marked as "Custom" and not "Retail".
