If you're talking about the upper spine logo it is the same as on all our NES covers. It's a template after all. ;)

Yeah I have mentioned that too, but nobody cares. Same thing with Astyanax: http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?game_id=4942, and I think there was least one other.

We're talking specifically about the area behind the encircled Nintendo logo. The rest of the template is black, yes, but the area behind the Nintendo logo within the oval is white on pretty much ever other NES cover. Compare Super Mario Bros. to Kirby's Adventure and it'll be apparent.
