just letting someone know that the Wii Fit cover is the US one not Canada http://www.thecoverproject.net/view.php?cover_id=8257

Are you sure...? The ESRB rating is written in english and french and also the back text is french + english... Both are strong indicators that this is a CA version....

Yeah, its the same cover my wife has (USA)....

If you read the small box on the right rear, above the barcode, it says: "For sale, rental or use only in the USA, Canada, Mexico and Latin America"

Technically you are both right.  ;)

P.S. its also in Spanish for our Latin friends.  :)

Nintendo is liking money more than usual. They have been printing English/French/Spanish covers for a while now.

I added those Wii covers as Canadian, which is techniqually correct.  The reason why i didn't change them to US is becasue they are listed as wii_wiifit_ca and we cant change the region currently and that would mess everything up (be very confsing).

Ideally, in The Cover Project Forever, instead of categorizing by region, it would categorize by language(s) and maybe the region the cover is from. Ex:

Wii Fit
English, French, Spanish

Pikmin 2
English (UK)

Probotector and Contra HC are the same game (with some graphical changes). Probotector is the E.U version...we dont have a U.S one yet. As the site defaults to U.S versions , it can be troublesome in some cases (like this one  ;))

Maybe we should really make a own section for each version of the game.... It really will clutter our database but if such a thing can happen(someone thinks it's the wrong game) for a game like Contra(which is more than well known) it can happen for more scarce games anytime....

I also agree with both of you.  Its really confusing with the different names for the same game in different regions.  We have it split in some cases and i like it better that way. (look to StarFox & StarWing on SNES)

Maybe this isn't the thread to ask in, but while we're discussing the format of the games list, what determines the page breaks? Some letters have close to 15 titles on a page, while others like the SNES R's have 6 titles total, split between 2 pages.

BTW I agree with you three about the different region titles. What if we had all region titles show in the lists (like how starfox/starwing is), but when you click one, have them bring you to the same page with all the region's covers and set the default cover that displays to that region's cover. (so if you click starfox, the first cover you see is US, and if you click starwing, the first one you see is EU). That would be a change that only snowcone can implement though, right?

This is due to background stuff.... To make it short I suppose if there are cover "names/sections" in our database for games which have no covers yet they still reserver a invisible spot in the letter section.... So if there are 50 "R" SNES games but only 10 have covers the rest got some kind of invisible space reserved.... Sounds confusing.... ;D

Yup you are right.... He has been working on our new site for a loooooong time now and I hope there will be much stuff implemented when it's ready.... God nows when that will be.... ;D

My cover has been labelled wrong:

This is a retail NTSC Jap cover - not NTSC US.

The Steel Empire (aka Empire of Steel) cover for the Genesis doesn't work.
