It's becoming more and more common, it seems, for a few publishers to release soundtracks with their games. Unfortunately, very few of them actually come in jewel cases - in fact, a few of them come in nothing more than sleeves, if that!

Anyway, I was wondering - If I made jewel case covers for the soundtracks that come with games
(Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny, Mirror's Edge, Mana Khamia, Demon's Souls, BlazBlue, Metal Gear Solid 4, Disgaea 3, Chrono Trigger DS and Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne are a few that I can remember off the top of my head), would you guys be able to upload them to the site? I'd think that a lot of people could use them.

Hmmm.... I don't know about that... It has something to do with games but is it really fitting for a game cover preservation site?

Yeah, I thought I had seen non-game covers that were still related to the games on here before, although I don't think it should be it's own section. For example, I'd think the Mirror's Edge CD cover should just be uploaded to the Mirror's Edge page in the PC section, since that's the release that came with the CD.

Also, I'd think they should only be allowed if the game actually came with a CD in someway. For instance, Demon's Souls and Soul Calibur: Broken Destiny came with CDs if you pre-ordered it - I think that counts. On the other hand, Guilty Gear X had an OST sold separately for the game - and I think that it shouldn't count (unless I missed a release that did include the soundtrack, somehow).

The only game I have that came with a soundtrack was Persona 4, but thankfully it came in a 2-disc case and not a paper sleeve. Never got around to buying the second half of the soundtrack that came with a calendar, a plushie, a t-shirt, and I think something else, but I bet it's worth much more than the $30-50 they were asking for around the game's release..

not long ago I purchased Dawn Of Mana, it has a pre-order soundtrack with a few songs, I bought a double ps2 game for the case (Dragon Quest VII)

I think the7K is right about needing something for the sake of the bonuses. I personally think there should be a custom cover that uses both the game and CD (so long as there is a way to get your hands on a case that will hold both comfortably)

For Example: Dragon Quest VII came with a FFXII demo... It stated so on the bottom right of the cover in one of those little bubbles.
Same thing with Fullmetal Alchemist 2 with a DVD extra

As far as games that can't in any way accommodate the bonus discs, yes, I think we should have special cases and covers or something for them.

The only problem is to figure out the format.  You don't want your Chrono Trigger DS soundtrack next to the game in a DVD style case.
A jewel case or half height DVD case is more fitted for that.

But on the other of the gaming spectrum is the DVD style cases that you might not want the bonus disc to be in a jewel case or half height DVD.

Decided to try this out with an easy one. Just got the Fragile Dreams Soundtrack, and it was just a sleeve. Just formatted it for CD size and gave it endlabels.

Feel free to treat them as raws - my scanner does a poor job of getting rid of the moire pattern.

I think that's a great idea!! I hate it when I get a soundtrack and nothing to put it in because I can't put it with my other game soundtracks.

I hope you guys decide to do it. and might I suggest Castlevania 20th anniversary soundtrack :P
