Hi all. Just discovered this whole world of custom/replacement art and it is 100% my sort of thing.

So immediately I have got involved and I bought some UGC with art from FoxyPrint in the UK. These are £5 each with the art and then was £2 for delivery so £17 for 3 cases in the end!

Now a cheaper option seems to be to buy some UGC off of ebay and then buy the art separate - FoxyPrint do the art individually for £1.30 each. But even though they have a lot of covers it is never enough, and they have taken all the US covers - e.g. Sega art is genesis, not Megadrive.

Anyway I cannot seem to find a more affordable way of doing this so I may have to stop before I get even deeper. I also love the blue megadrive cases that seem to come from CGC but the shipping to the UK is too much. There is a reseller on ebay but each case (with art, though limited choice again) is £9.99. CGC is like a dream website for me but I just can’t afford it. $200 worth of cases becomes almost $400 with delivery.

Has anyone in the UK managed to crack this whole problem?

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the site!

As far as I'm aware the UGC's have stopped production and aren't coming back anytime soon, probably a dead end there...

I would say your best bet would be to go for some wide dvd cases, particularly the ones with 26mm spines, they are almost a perfect replacement for UGC's,

Example:

https://www.rivieramultimedia.co.uk/x-pert-media-6-way-black-dvd-case-26mm-13-box-c2x13803349

I myself use this type of case, and they work great,

Good luck, but beware casing your games is addictive!

Hey, thanks for the welcome!

Thanks for the link too. Interesting, they are already much cheaper than the UGC for me. Do you just take out the middle spaces and leave your carts to rattle around in them though?

And yea I can see this getting a bit all-consuming. Keeps my mind off other things though!

Unfortunately yeah, but 99% of the time there just sitting on the shelf anyway, right? I suppose you could make some sort of foam spacer?
