You could always use the account to thank the person who fulfilled your original request.......just an idea! 😜

Saying Thank you might be harder than deleting the account to be completely honest.  I mean, you first have to find the person to thank by looking on the page, finding their contact information, writing a personal message... I'm already tired just thinking about it.  If only there was a public way to say thank you for the assistance!.

I’ve spent most of the last months settling my dead dads estate. Video games haven’t been forefront on my mind.

But okay, thanks for helping me source a copy of a retro game. Could you now delete my account, please?

My father died from a heart attack oct 30th 2020 and my uncle slipped, fell, bled out from his head and passed away oct 16th 2020 (2 weeks prior).  A random utility worker who went to the wrong house found my uncle deceased because the garage was still opened.  Sorry for your loss, 2020 has been a pain in the ass for all of us.  Video games as well have not at all been on my mind as well, but I can still say thank you.  Mom has been stuck doing all the paperwork for both accounts and yeah, it's hell. but Christmas is still happening.  Life doesn't stop.

Very sorry for your loss.  2020 has been tough for a lot of us.  I don’t think I was  impolite in my tongue in cheek comment.  Making covers for people is, for me, a welcome distraction from real life.  I don’t think it’s too much to expect someone to say thanks for something I’ve taken hours out of my day to provide.  But whatever, if that makes me the asshole, I’ll take it.

I wish you all the best for the season, and hope 2021 is a better year for you, me, and all of us.

As far as account deletion, it’s not something we generally do (aside from abusive people or spammers).  Your account can remain dormant, in case at some point in the future you want to rejoin the community.
