I use Ikea bookshelves in my gaming area to store and display all of my games. I don't have much space, so I've utilized it as effectively as I can. If I split the shelving space as evenly as I can, I end up with 8 shelves that are perfectly-sized for CGCs, UGCs and DVD cases. In the beginning I tried to put all of my PS1, Dreamcast, Sega CD and Saturn jewel cases on those shelves as well. But I quickly found that the irregular sizes of these cases (compared to UGCs and DVDs) limited where I could put them and how much space I had left for other game cases. If I arranged the shelves perfectly, I could replace one DVD-sized shelf space with 2 standard CD-sized shelves (though it was a tight fit for some games). But I didn't (and still don't) have enough standard CD cases to fill up those shelves horizontally, meaning the rest of that was wasted space that I couldn't use. The Sega CD/Saturn-sized jewel cases presented a different problem: being taller than DVD cases required additional vertical space that encroached onto the shelves above them. Adjusting the shelves accordingly left me with less space to put new games, plus they take up increased space horizontally as well. By putting all my Sega CD and Saturn games alone into DVD cases I saved a ton of both vertical AND horizontal shelf space. And by putting PS1 games into DVD cases I was able to standardize my shelving dimensions AND take up less horizontal space on the shelf. How, you ask, when DVD cases are thicker than standard PS1 cases? The answer: multi-disc DVD cases are thinner than multi-disc PS1 cases, which I had a lot of. So in my anecdotal scenario, using DVD cases for pre-PS2 disc-based media has actually saved me space in the long run. Which is why I use the DVD covers. |

Don't forget PS1 had longbox cases as well. All I am saying is that it's a lot easier to make a rectangular cover fit a rectangular case. My mini NES cases are of my own paranoia and I wouldn't feel right continuously asking for more and more covers, which is why I've learned how to make them myself. All I am saying is that... PS1 DVD cover requests... don't... really... get... filled... If all of the PS1 games were in longboxes (instead of CD jewel cases), F yeah, people would be all about helping! But... they aren't =\. Heck, it's hard enough for asking people to scan the BACKSIDE of the PS1 cover, so that when you print the cover out, it's not pure white staring back at you. |

🙄OK we get it! You're the king of the New Troll movement, good for you! , but I was seeking help from people who didn't actually live on there mothers couch, posting to 4chan all day. You can spend every waking minute of the day posting your 2 cents to every forum you come across and still never be memorable or respected. You offered no help and therefor you're useless and I'm pretty sure that statement extends beyond this. I have no interest in reading anything else you have to say. Moving on now, your posts will not be read [ --- Quote from: ShoothimNow on December 17, 2020, 07:50:26 AM ---Um I'm pretty sure those covers are also from a decade ago. Its ok that you are new and want some help, but not taking the advice of some of the other members is pretty lame. All I am saying is... --- Quote ---But smoothin, I did read your response, and it has nothing helpful to say --- End quote --- I hear you cry. --- Quote from: ShoothimNow on December 16, 2020, 06:24:20 AM ---Might have some luck searching the forums with the search bar on the top of the page. --- End quote --- lenoxseer's Treasure of the Deep DVD case is right there on the first search result. Constructively Do you happen to have any of these games strategy guides? The dimensions of a strategy guide closer resembles the front of a DVD case (be it, rectangular). Only problem with strategy guides in order to create a cover is unwanted wordings Otherwise, if you hate the idea of having black bars on the front of a case, the only other solution for retail artwork is to stretch (and nobody wants to do that and proudly show off their work). We don't know the style you are looking for (completely custom / partly custom / as retail as you can get it). Pictures help on what you are looking for. Using the search function on the forums as well will also net you results (as it is not tied to the main site). This is not towards you, but I would LOVE to know the context behind PS1 DVD styled cases... Personally, I see little to no reward to converting my PS1 collection to DVD styled cases. I would have to store the original jewel case and artwork, but also have a separate case altogether (that is larger than the jewel case) to hold the game. If I then buy 15 more PS1 games next week, do I... come back here and request 15 more cases for each of those games? What if you happen to find 100 games this week for a steal. Practically you are taking this [75 games with TONS of vertical space] Going to this ultimately store the cases away To then swap to this [53 games] I've done this in the past, converting PS2 games into Slim-Line cases. About 3 years after I did that, I hated myself for doing it. Such the waste. I'm down to these games left to recover But again, that's just what I've done and my opinion. I mean... more power to you... but I can tell you that a majority of the contributors here... won't do this... and seeing that they won't do this, there is no reason for them to make a DVD styled case, seeing that they know if they purchase another CD jewel case game, they will ultimately have to generate another DVD styled case. Which is, to me, stupid. But again, that's just my opinion, but I've seen way too many of these DVD styled PS1 posts never get fulfilled. Figured I would let you know sooner than later. --- End quote --- |

Hoping someone will provide some awesome covers, but... it's going to be slim... especially with an attitude like that bro. Merry Christmas, Happy new year. |
