I printed some as is and they don't seem to reach all the way edge to edge in the cases, there's probably a bout a 1/3 inch gap on each side, is this normal?

Check the DPI , it should be 300.
Check dimensions, they should be 2100 by 3366.
Check that you printer does not have fit to page option on.
Make sure scaling is at 100%
Are you using Legal or A4 size paper?

Odd...?

You could try increasing the size to maybe 102%.

You can easily do this by printing at 102% scale if the height is off too.

If height is fine then just increase the width in Paint.

Ok was wrong about something, paper was not legal sized it was letter. I'm also not sure how to get 300dpi on my printer, I have an HP Envy 5014, the only option is max DPI on it.

OK, yes letter is too small.

No need to adjust DPI.
Just make sure scaling is 100% and fit to page is off, tel your printer if you use special paper (photo or something), Landscape paper orientation. centering on both horizontal and vertuical, minimize border size.
All the rest should come automaticly.

That is common problem I've heard.
Try checking online if you can find something better.

I'm European so I can't really help as I don't know good places in Americas.

For some reason the covers keep taking up almost the whole sheet making them way to big, I open them in paint.net check the dimensions which are correct  2100 by 3366. Then I click print which brings up the printer dialogue and the only option in there is "fit picture to frame". Tried it with that option checked and unchecked, came out about the same, huge. Any ideas ?

Welcome to The Cover Project, Vypertech!

If you want that official box look when printing covers, use Paperworks 48lb Semi-Gloss Legal Size paper. This is the paper I use. It's expensive, but worth every penny. You can order it at paperworks.com. This paper is very close to the same paper PlayStation 2 covers are printed on. Paperworks also makes a 44lb Matte Coated paper. If you use matte paper, the cover will still look good, but the colors will be dull and mute. Blacks won't be as deep either. 20lb paper is too light. It's copy paper. you don't want to use copy paper for printing covers. Before you start printing any covers, make sure you change the paper type in your printer settings to semi-gloss if you're using that paper or matte if you're using matte. This way, the printer knows what paper you're using and prints correctly. To open up the covers in Paint, right click the image, go to "Open With" and choose "Paint". When you're in Paint, go to Page Setup first. Set the paper to legal size, then click "Adjust to:" Make sure it's at 100%. If the preview is showing dimensions that are too big, you need to change the "Adjust to" percentage to 32%. That will print the cover at the correct size.

That did the trick for the most part, it was just a hair too long but fit pretty nice otherwise.

You both have been a great help. I appreciate it! Shipping is a little pricey on those.
