Hey,

 Why do we need a FTP?

 Ok, I understand thats way easy to work on that system that uploads straight using web/ftp scripts, and I do belive its even easyer using ftp clients, but this site cannot stop because of this;

 What Im trying to say is:
 This project is not special due its FTPs, it is special due the quality of its covers.

 Why this problem is not fixed, why dont we start to use the forums to upload, meanwhile, create a Forum for Cover Uploads, we can upload them as attachments of posts, admins can download perfectly, check it, and I do belive they can setup them using their administration controls without need ftp...

 Im a cover uploader, I would have no problem upload them as post attachments.. (indeed I would enjoy to comment.. :P)

 Well, thats my 2 cents...

Yes let's do that. I'm missing many covers, of which many I have heard have been uploaded to the site but not yet posted permanently on the site.

Covers can still be uploaded to the 'uploads' section, can't they? If so, just do that and add the link to it when you post the preview, like the7k did with his recent Arkham Asylum covers. Or use a box.net account. There isn't any reason why the flow of covers should stop while ftp access is down. It just means people will have to check the forums for new covers.

See what Tik means is that we need the use of FTP to move the covers into the ready folder.

The admin panel that we use to add a cover to the site will only read covers in the Ready Folder... So if we can't move them to that folder, the panel dose not see them and we are unable to add the cover to the site itself.
If you have nothing to do... Don't do it here!

I mean when someone uploads a cover, they get direct link to it.
Just post that link to the forums so others can go get the cover.
Like the7k does here:

Nothing hard about it.
