My girlfriend got a new job and needs a laptop. She asked me to help find something for her.
She works in claims in health care. She needs the laptop for large volume data management, data mining, and data analysis. She works in excel a lot with huge spreadsheets. She'll need 32gb memory minimum.
She hates laptops, but needs one because we live in So Cal and the job is in the bay area and she will need to be onsite occasionally.
She prefers a larger screen. The max size of 17 inches would be nice, otherwise it's difficult to read. We already got two 24 inch monitors that she will attach with a universal docking station, but she wants the primary screen to be as large as possible as well. It's not a deal breaker though. She can work with 15.
She hates lenovo thinkpads because she can't rest her wrists in front of the keyboard. She has to peck at the keyboard and her hand gets cramped.
I asked her about her budget and she said that she would like to spend $600-800, maybe a thousand, and from what I've researched already, this doesn't seem realistic for her needs. She will need to spend more, which she is ok with, but she would love to get a deal (who wouldn't, right?).
Any advice? Any more information needed to give recommendations?
