Issue printing at Staples

Hello, I've printed off basically my entire collection at Staples on 11x17 glossy photo paper, they have no paper options locally for legal other than standard copy paper. Using the online copy and print I used to insert the image into a word doc and send it off for printing, if I just tried to do the JPG it would always be the wrong size.

Recently I've tried sending a bunch of jobs and no matter how I format it, the size seems to be either too small or too large. I even took one of my old word docs and just changed the image and had the same issue. Do you think this is just the print technician making a mistake? Or is there a more foolproof way of guaranteeing the sizing comes out correct?

they are known for being pricks about copyright even if under fair use rights
just buy a laser printer i print in jpg with no borders don't use word docs use pdf powerpoint or jpg to  flatten image, if you want super professional read the FAQ since these are just reprinted covers i just print image as is or edit and have templates for each system. honestly i don't make requests on here anymore unless i can't find the image myself or a good quality/custom version. welcome to the site shadowfox also sells cases at www.customgamecases.com if you got the $ give it to him honestly he does all the work for ya.

When I first got into this years back I would print at Staples.  I had to play around a bit to get it right.

First, they would convert any JPEG files to PDF so they could print.  I had to tell them DO NOT FIT TO PRINT.  It's an option when you go to print which resizes the image.  When they would print from PDF without fit to print, they were almost always right.

Second, keep in mind some covers on this site are not sized correctly, so if one or two specific images are giving you trouble, download GIMP or some other free photo editor and check to make sure they are the right image size (there are tutorials in the forums)

Third, printing covers (especially retail covers) isn't exactly fair use. In fact, a good lawyer could probably argue it is blatant infringement.  Some workers may say no.  If they do, I wouldn't recommend to fight it, you likely won't win.  Just try and go when someone else is working.

I print my stuff at UPS. They are generally less picky. I also have a guy there that I have been printing with for a couple of years now. I have each type of case in it's own folder on a portable hard drive. The folders are marked with the dimension of what is in the folder so he knows to resize if necessary. I just hand him the flash drive and come back in about 45 mins to an hour.
