The Spyro trilogy actually got a second printing on PS4 that has all the games on disc... unfortunately the only way to tell them apart is the year stamp on the actual disc.  Everything else is exactly the same...  I think they had to do this as Sony came up with some rule that all games advertised have to be on disc so for Activision to keep selling it, they had to do a new print run.

Wait, so you're telling me they could have fit them on the disc the whole time? That frustrates me just as much as companies cheaping out on lower storage Switch carts for games.
To be this good it takes AGES!

They're trying to bully people into going digital. They all want everything digital to kill the resale market so as to have seemingly endless sales.

It’s the same with the Spyro trilogy and bioshock trilogy. I got rid of the Spyro trilogy as soon as I found out. I’ll wait until these games plummit inevitably in price, and then buy them.

We can all talk about how awful of a practice this is, but likely in the future, it won’t be too difficult to install “updates” even after Nintendo services are down for Switch. Although impossible to install digital ware, probably someone will find a way to copy pasta updates.

Another way to tell is if it has the Crash Team Racing flyer insert inside. The original print run had no inserts of any kind. The easiest way to tell would be to hold the case up to the light and look through the clear plastic.

But the good thing is, by now any retailers that still have it in stock more than likely have the second printing.

If I understood correctly at launch they did not manage, but later managed to compress it better.
This was comparing the size of the full digital version at launch and currently.

I guess that makes sense.  I was thinking that by making at least one of the games digital, it forces you to go to the online store, where you can't avoid seeing the advertisements for other games.  Therefore, while you are downloading your "free" game you might see other stuff you want to buy.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

In this game you just pop in the disc/cart and it autodownloads the 2nd and 3rd game, no need to go to the e-shop/store

They're trying to bully people into going digital. They all want everything digital to kill the resale market so as to have seemingly endless sales.

True that is what they want but when they move to all Digital the price does not drop and my paycheck does not get bigger. so for me, it will decrease the number of games I can buy.

But the way they see it is if you buy a used physical game they don't get that profit a 2nd time. 2 people got to play their game and they only got paid once for it. They'd rather have the money than let more people play their game for less $. That is truely why they are trying to kill the physical market and that is why I buy physical as much as I am able.

I have covers for most Disc based games. Let me know if you need something scanned.

Early father's day present to myself.  I wasn't going to pick this up as I have the SD System 3 from Terra Onion...but I saw this in stock on Amazon Japan for about $115 shipped and couldn't resist.  Also got the matching 8bitdo wireless controller.

Admittedly I thought about getting the TG16 version since that's the only veriosn I'm really nostalgic for, but it was just too big.  I always wanted a Coregrafx but never actually put out the money to buy one.  This scratches the itch for now.
