Hello All!

Reaching out to the seasoned experts. I am sure this information is somewhere in the forum catacombs and if I spend some time traversing its maze I could locate this information, but what can I say, I am lazy.

I have spend the last few months trying to track down a reliable source to purchase the standard UGC from. No luck. Had website retailers just simply not answer/ship/take my month after paying, retailers saying that can't ship overseas due to costs (even I was willing to pay the extra costs). I know there is always China, but unless you are buying 1000 units they won't sell to you, or if they do they want a insane amount of money per case at lower volumes.

Anyone have a good source?
I am located in Canada currently but am open to any options as long as the goods can get to my door. (Looking for around 100-125 units to start with)

Maybe there is a good alt I am unaware of that will fit most of the Carts as well? I thought VHS tape plastic cases/w sleeves, but that seems just as big of a hunt to find.

Hope someone has some good news in there back pocket.

Thanks in advance!~

Unfortunately, mediashelving.com only ships to the US.  You could always ship to someone in the states and then have them ship to you, but then you basically pay double the shipping cost which is already high to begin with.  On top of that, the quality of UGCs has gone downhill over the past few years.  I would look at customgamecases.com like Arseen mentioned and go that route.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I agree with Arseen. UGCs were serviceable until a superior product came along. UGCs are far more fragile and loosely fit the cartridges. CGCs use a far better plastic and are a perfect fit for their respective cartridge. I got rid of all of my UGCs many years ago and have never looked back.

Thanks for the advice so far.
Much appreciated.

Sounds like I should be looking into www.customgamecases.com

Only thing that not so fun is the CAD - USD exchange rate at the moment.

But can always wait and watch. Not sure if they do discount codes every once and a while or not, but worth a look.

Thanks again.

Like they said, the creator of those cases is a member of this forum. If you have special needs like specific quantities or shipping requirements, you could ask him here.

Oh. And I don’t use cases for all of my games, but I have seen/used most varieties of his cases. And they are superb. His GB/C/A cases especially. They are a spot on match to DS cases.

Welcome to The Cover Project, djonesvii!

I only use Shadowfox's Custom Game Cases. I highly recommend them because they are the best. They are made of thick, sturdy plastic. He doesn't skimp on the quality. All of his cases have booklet clips inside to hold your manuals too. That's something the universal game cases lacked. You can buy Shadowfox's cases with covers or without covers at customgamecases.com. Best of all, he ships worldwide.

I like Stoneage Gamer Bit Boxes.  Lightweight, sturdy, and made in North America!

I like Bitboxes too but the art is too difficult to get into it quickly. UGC cases are also a fraction of the cost of CustomGameCases.com

Does anyone know if MediaShelving.com is actually shipping? I can't get through to any of their phone numbers.

They do not have a good communication track record (even before Covid-19). When I made my order a few years ago My boxes just randomly showed up. No tracking offered, and no emails.

If I remember correctly, you can't even put in a regular order at Mediashelving.com.  I think you have to request a quote on a box with shipping and wait several days.  Once you have the quote, you can order, and wait several more days.  They really are a pain in the ass.

You sir are correct. About all of it. That is why I took a tax return one year and bought 3 boxes of cases from them. 750 UGC all at once. I knew about the hassle and did not want to do it more than once.

I will be honest. It may be worth going thru the hassle since they sell them in lots of 250.
