How has Corona virus affected your life.
Arseen:
That is shitty thing to happen.
Hope things will get better for you and your family members soon.
Restaurants and hotels here took the major brunt of the crap as they were seriously restricted and all borders of my country were closed for all but most essental cargo and post.
All bars and the restaurants that were dine-in only got F***ED hard, but the ones who were mostly take-away faired better.
Two of my siblings (working at big car factory) got 2 months forced vacation (due to parts not arriving fast enough from China), half of which was their normal summer vacation, but the other month was unpaid. They were here at our parent's house so they were OK, and unemployment office paid them something.
And as non-essential medical/dental work was closed one of my sister (dental hygienist) had to spend month checking/testing/monitoring the truck drivers coming from neighboring country.

I've been fortunate enough to continue working this entire time. However, tomorrow I will find out how much of a pay cut I will take next fiscal year (which starts July 1st for me). I'm in finance so I've been heavily involved in redoing our budget due to massive revenue losses directly related to COVID. We lost several people to furloughs and unfortunately, we just found out that a portion of the furloughs won't ever return to work.
I'm still working from home. They are working on bringing people back into the work environment in phases. Since I'm in finance, my group will be one of the last to come back to work if ever. I actually found out recently that there is a chance that I will always work from home. I think a lot of companies found out how efficiently they can continue to work with people at home, and how much money they can save by reducing the space that everyone takes up.

I know the feeling. I work in IT in higher education and several schools and colleges are in bad shape because of Covid. It is estimated that over 200 schools will be gone by December.
I am also part of the "Death Crew" at work. So when someone is about be be let go I get an email telling me to cut their access to their voicemail and email at a specific time. It sucks and is part of the dark side of IT, but it is part of the job. As for working remote, yea lots of places are looking into it long term, and finding lots of benefits. We converted all our classes to online so students could continue their education, and this summer we set a new school record for number of available online classes.
One day this will get better. Hope it is soon.

I've been lucky in that I'm a shut-in for the most part due to my health and my appointments have been over the phone for therapy and medication refills. I have a feeling we're going to be seeing the insurance companies more willing to pay for this than they were as people are going to not want to go out even after the all clear has been sounded. My part of PA was one of the first to open and even now we have very few cases but sadly more people not wearing masks. A lot of businesses are still mostly using the quarantine hours of operation and most places are still doing more carry out orders than dine in.
