Is there a place in the US to buy these cases at all?

Yes? Like 10x easier than buying internationally.

I guess there needs to be a guide on how to buy Mediashelving, DVD, and CD cases.

Heh.  I did google searches for mediashelving and nothing came up for me, thanks for the link.

hey, don't forget about me, if you order.

And btw: me neither (beeing native english speaker), but my girlfriend speaks portuguese, spanish, german, english and french. She sais, "back ordered" means "nachbestellt". So I guess, the shop has ordered these cases from the factory or some "Großhandel". dict.leo.org sais: "Auftrag im Rückstand", "Lieferrückstand". http://dict.leo.org/?search=backorder&searchLoc=-1&lp=ende&lang=de

Ok so that means they've allready ordered cases 6 weeks ago but didn't get them delivered.... Hmmmm....
That's not such a good situation but I've asked them something and I'm currently waiting for a reply.... When they reply I'll decide if I still will try it and order them.

Regards and happy new year to all here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm.... I don't know if I understood the prblem right...

I thought if the merchant tells me that they are 6 weeks backordered on this item that means that they allready ordered some more cases six weeks ago and still didn't get them. So I thought ordering makes no sense because the merchant himself doesn't get them delivered either. Or am I understnding this worng?

Does this just mean that I have to wait six weeks for my item to arrive or to be delivered? If that's the case I'd order them right away... If it means I don't know if my order can be fullfilled than I'm rather not ordering....

Could some native english speaker please explain the term back ordered further?

Sorry no insult KaiserWAVE but we both haven't got english as our mothers tongue.... :)

Regards Sebastian

Backordered for 6 weeks means they should be in and ready for shipment in 6 weeks.

Ok so now they said that the black boxes are back ordered but the white ones are there and ready to get shipped....
I was sooooooooooooooooo happy! But just one minute ago I got an email with the shipping costs....

You know what to europe(austria) shipping is 274 US Dollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know. Either it's a really bad joke or they don't want to make business with oversee buyers....

*sigh* Why oh god why is it sooooo difficult to get those boxes???????

  • ...and that's the bottom line
There is now European seller :( Both Mediashelving and The Shopper Inc. are based in Simi Valley, CA. Mediashelving diesn't ship internationally, they ship USA and Canada only. The Shopper Inc. ships internationally but as tiktektak stated for an insane shipping fee.

Btw, how many cases did ypu order to get $274 shipping? If it's for a 100 cases then I just buried my dreams of buying these cases. Hell, you could get a Wii+game or a Xbox360 Core for that money.

I tried ordering 200 cases.... But even in this case it's an insane amount for shipping isn't it?

I don't know how heavy 200 cases can be? Maybe the shipping is really that expensive?
A parcel weighing let's say 44 pounds would be 200 cases maybe... if one case is 0.22 pounds....???

From the USPS site that would be an shipping cost of
Airmail Parcel Post                    4 - 10 Days                $152.05
Economy (Surface) Parcel Post      4 - 6 Weeks               $57.05

That's not cheap but nowhere near 270 dollars???? Hmmm..... I don't know.....

Ask them to clarify the postage costs as when I asked for a shipping price for 100 cases to New Zealand ..... which is edge of the world stuff compared to Europe ..... Video Shopper gave me a price of $92 US so doubling the order I wouldn't expect to be more than double the price.

Well, I received a case today from Mediashelving - case weight (100 cases): 18.8lbs.

That appears to be an insane amount for shipping.....  if that is what they are quoting you, then my only thought is they don't really want to do it.   :(

Yep ...... and the $92 i was quoted was for airmail .... so the surface price is pretty good if you want to wait a few weeks eh.

Agreed. Honestly, if you are in that kind of bind I'd be glad to have them shipped to me and then I'll remail them to you if you cover the shipping costs from Texas. I don't know that I can do this regularly, but I'd be glad to help out occasionally.

I'm not giving up yet..... :)

I asked the staff(nice person who is writing many emails with me) :) to check back about shipping costs to my country(austria) and he told me that he would talk to his shipments supervisor....

I'm waiting for a reply....

Snowcone:
It would be a one time shipment of 200 cases.... That would be enough for me and some of my friends for a year or longer.... :=) I would cover all the costs for sure....
