Who's got a 3D printer?

I definitely can.  But a normal SD card won't fit.  It's actually smaller than an SD in heigth and width.  A micro will fit though.  You want it modified to hold a micro?

marioxb:

Yeah, I was just playing around with the classic and I see that a microSD would fit pretty well. Also this thin USB drive might work (if I could determine what it is exactly and if it comes in large capacities). My friend works at Walmart and it was some 4MB flash drive they gave out with work documents on it. Can't figure out how to write/ format it as it's protected. Pretty cool nonetheless, if it was bigger than 4MB.

Sorry, I know I'm asking a lot, but yeah, if you could make it hold a micro SD that would be accessible from the inside of the PSC but the contacts wouldn't be sticking out (maybe just on the bottom if they need to be). Then I have to figure out a way to get it to connect on the inside of the PSC. Maybe it could hit something like this, attached to the lid (can't find my tiny screwdrivers to take it apart yet, so I don't know how feasible this is), wired to the board? Any ideas?

Also, what color(s) can you print in, or would painting be better/ easier?

Honestly, I have no idea what it would take to make it work in an adapter.  It would require something one-off, that's for sure.  The final part is 3mm thick.  A USB connector (with no shielding) is 2mm thick.  Sadly .5mm walls are way too thin to print.  A micro SD at ~1mm thick is just about as thick as it can get.  Even 1mm walls are going to be tricky (maybe impossible) without the parts warping.

I'd be using a formalbs printer, which means that there are no color choices, just materials.  I would use "gray pro" as it's rigid enough and will produce dimensionally accurate parts.

Those protected usb drives are a bitch to wipe.  I looked into it a while back, and it just wasn't worth the hassle.

Cool, no problem, just do what you can do, I can figure out the functionality somehow myself. If you can just make it so Micro SD cards fit in the back of the memory card and are the contacts can still make a connection, that would be awesome!
