As with everything else in my life...

I had the Hard Drive that contained all of the covers, templates and raws die on me this week before I could back the data up. So I may be out of the game for good now. I just wanted to stop by and leave a note for all you to know I had a great time working on this project and hope against hope this Data Recovery place can recover all my work and I can come back.

That stinks man.
This can happen to anyone.  My hard-drive took a crap several months ago.  So, if anyone needs a place to store their working files and so forth I am offering, as before, free FTP service for any cover artist.  This is the best way that I can contribute to this project.  PM me if you require this service.

And again, that really stinks man...

Yeah, that does suck.

I also lost my main hard-drive, and so almost all my covers are gone, as is my OpenBOR project and RPG Maker XP project. That's about 4-5 years of work down the drain. Happy days.

How much was lost (not posted to the site as a cover, template, or raw)?

And shame on you all for not backing up your data.

I had hard drive overheat and die once. Lost a bunch of stuff including all my family photos over over a 4 year time span since I had used a digital camera. Why I never got around to printing them off I don't know. All those pics of cross country trips and good times gone. :(

Must be a time of year for it - my main music drive is clicking away - about to die any day - desperately trying to copy everything off before it gives up (it's a 1.5 terrabyte seagate external - less than a year old!!)  AND it's looking like i'll have to do a fresh install on my PC as it's misbehaving, and blue screening every hour or so.  Think might need to replace the RAM too!!  >:(

Its happened to me a couple of times(i keep a backup after the first one). I used a program called GetDataBack on the drive and it recovered almost all of it (thank god). Hope to see your triumphant return LJ.

This is indeed horrible news.

Thank you for all the covers LJ42 over the years. I think you did 90% of the covers for my NES games. I am still amazed at how quickly you could make a high quality cover from a crappy scan I would send in.
