I think the moire effect actually somewhat enhances the art on the insert, makes it look like a painting on parchment or something, really neat.

Yeah, but it really depends on the image. Some flow with it (like Bushido Blade), but others don't (PE). IMHO.

I asked in the scanning thread, but I'll ask here too.
Is there anything I can do about the Moire Effect? I tried covering it up in GIMP with Unmask Sharpening and Despeckle filters, and it looks better, but it's still bad.
