ridiculously large collections

Strong and Nerdy (formerly tmntfreak7):
just wondering what people think about collectors that have 100's of games for a single system.  Personally I have just over 200 games for all my systems (about 10 total) and I haven't even gotten a chance to play most of them.  Anyone think it's a little strange to just collect games and not play.

Not trying to start a flame war or anything, just would like to hear people's opinions.
sheep2001:
not strange at all - people colleect stamps and coins - i doubt very much if they play with those  ;)

my current catalogued colletion looks like this (and a massive proportion are unplayed - although, each one i buy i do PLAN to play):

still got a few systems to get catalogued.....................

Same as sheep2001, I think of that kind of collecting as no different to collecting stamps, coins and what-not.
I think it's a shame when people collect them and don't play them, as there are plenty of people out there, including myself and I'm sure many others on this site, that would love to get them and actually play them, even if only to see what they're like before being retired to a shelf. But I don't think it's strange in any way.

Also, thanks sheep2001. Until I saw your image, I didn't realise Game Collector had a 'Statistics' bar graph like that.
KaiserWAVE:
I have exactly 354 games spread on 9 consoles. I
have played through and finished most of them. The only ones I need to play through are most of the Mega Drive and Xbox games. I was kinda late to the party :) As a kid I was a Nintendo fanboy and had a SNES but never owned a Mega Drive. Same with the Xbox, when that generation hit I bought the Gamecube on launch and later the PS2. Then I played more and more Xbox games that I liked so I got one and now I'm hunting on eBay and the likes for all the gems I missed. So right now I'm more of a retro collector and current gen player but I do plan to establish my own dedicated game room and then I play through the backlog one by one :)

Man I'm having that same problem. Because of that I plan on cutting down on how many games I buy, maybe just 2-3 a month.
