We all know the endless vertical vs horizontal debate, which most of us know is simply a matter of taste, but I think I might have a correlation of sorts.

To those who re-case ps1 games, would you mind answering the following questions (please answer all of them)?

1. Which style do you prefer, Vertical or Horizontal?

2. When playing ps1 games, do you use an original PlayStation or use the ps2/3's backwards compatibility?

3. On your shelf, do you keep re-cased ps1 games separate from your ps2 games, or do you mix them?

I'm sure you can see the correlation I'm trying to make, but I'm just wanting to satisfy my curiosity.

My personal answers:

1. Horizontal style
2. Ps2's backwards compatibility
3. I mix the cases so I can keep cross platform game series's uniform.

I'm aware of that link, this is associating it with the other two questions though, I'm asking more on a member to member basis, not asking if more people like vertical or horizontal.

I mean, I don't mean to make this a debate thread like that one, just a general way to see if there is any correlation between those three questions.

1. HORIZONTAL. MUCH EASIER TO MAKE. Vertical presents the same pains I have with Dreamcast covers. And PS2 games as well as MGS1 are horizontal, so seriously, why not?

2. Both. Depends on which room I'm in. Typically, however, I use my PS2.

3. I do NOT intermix, as I don't want to confuse them. Don't wanna pop a PS2 game in my PS1 and then feel stupid.

MGS1's official case is vertical.

1. Horizontal.
2. Original Playstation. But some of that is because I need the original Playstation to play US imports.
3. Seperate. But I keep my favourite series seperate again. For example The Legend of Zelda and Seiken Densetsu.

I only have a small number of my Playstation games re-cased so far though, and Legend of Mana is the only one from a multi-console series. When I get around to re-casing Metal Gear Solid, and, even worse, Resident Evil, of which I have games for five consoles, I'm going to have a few sleepness nights about how to arrange it all.

1. Horizontal
2. Original PS1.  The only system I consistently use the backwards compatibility on is my DS, since otherwise the slot would be empty and feel weird.  Everything else gets played on the original system for maximum authenticity.
3. I keep them separate, but the PS2 games come immediately after the PS1 games on the shelf.

2. PS2's backwards compatibility
3. PS1 and PS2 cases are separated.

1.  Horizontal.
2.  PS3, most of the time.
3.  I keep all of my games separated by console (PS1, PS2, PS3, etc.).

1. Horizontal. Seems like more people are willing to make covers in that format :P
2. PS2, seeing as my old ps1 barely reads games anymore and has to be flipped upside down.
3. I integrate ps1 and ps2, seeing as I use the same console anyway. I'm also considering throwing some of the games (Like RE, MGS, Tony Hawk 2x) into my PS/PS2 section for series continuity, but something in my head screams OCD all over that, especially with the gamecube's spine being on the bottom of the cover.

Here's my answers:

1. Vertical. I like it that way so I can differentiate them from my PS2 games.
2. I use my PS2 to play my PS1 games at home. When I'm on vacation, like, say, at the beach, and I'm staying a few days there, I'll bring my original Playstation.
3. When I do get the chance to re-case my PS1 games, I'll probably keep them separate.

Dang it, it was. So much for my photographic memory. It's still MUCH easier to make Horizontal cases, IMHO.

EDIT

I just realized, now I have to re-download/-make/-case ALL my PS1 games for continuity... dangit... guess I'm NOT done on the PS1 scene yet...

Why exactly? I mean uh, couldn't you just re-case MGS1 in a horizontal case?
