Sega Mega SD from Terra Onion

Megatron:

Terraonion is coming out with a new device for Sega Genesis...a plug and play fpga cart that plays Sega CD files without needing a Sega CD add on.
Very similar to the PC Engine version (which I just bought), this is a cart that plugs into your Genesis, Analogue NT, etc. and it plays roms/isos/bin cue files for Genesis, Megadrive, Sega CD, 32x (needs attachment) and Master System.

So basically it's an everdrive that plays Sega CD games.

$260 is a HARD pass for me. If anything, I’ll wait for analogue’s (inevitable) add-on.

Megatron:

Yeah, I'm not particularly sold on this right now either.  The PC Engine add on makes sense and is worth the nearly $300 asking price.  Those systens are ridiculously expensive and the games through the roof.  Sega CD stuff is fairly accessable for modest prices.
That said, if this thing could fpga the 32x as well, then maybe it would be worth a look for a master system genesis trio all in one package.

Megatron:

I'm not sure Analogue would bother with a sega cd add on for the Mega SG, though.  It's a fairly niche market for what I assume is expensive production.  Now Krikzz, on the other hand, might be able to incorporate this into their next Mega everdrive.
