I have no idea what services Wal-Mart offers (or price) but it's going to depend on what you want printed.  First,  I would recommend a thicker paper stock.  You can do gloss, semi-gloss, or matte (I used matte) but the better the stock, the better they are going to look.  There are a few threads about this subject around here.

Also anything bigger then a DVD sized cover is going to require legal sized paper.  This is where it can get tricky as gloss or semi-gloss is hard to find in legal size.

Personally I print everything at home with a pretty standard home inkjet printer and I'm perfectly happy with the results.

If you're in the market for a new inkjet printer, I highly recommend a Canon Pixma TR7520 Inkjet printer. That is the printer I have. It is one of Canon's latest inkjet printers. It's an all-in-one printer that lets you print, make copies, scan and fax. The scanner can scan up to 1,200 dpi. Canon is known for making the most color accurate printers, scanners, and cameras.

For the paper, many people here have recommended Red River Paper's 50lb Premium Matte Legal Size Paper. I think that's a nice paper, but, I found something even better. I use Paperworks 48lb Semi-Gloss Legal Size Paper. If you want that official box look, use Paperworks 48lb semi-gloss paper. Semi-gloss paper also gives you nice, deep blacks. This paper is very close to what PlayStation 2 covers are printed on. It's expensive at $36.20 for a pack of 50 sheets. It's worth every penny! I was blown away when I printed the NES cover Fester's Quest on that paper. If you're printing on semi-gloss paper, you will need to go into your printer's properties and change the paper type from "Plain Paper" to "Semi-Gloss Paper". Don't forget to change the size from letter to legal too.

I hope this has helped you. If you have any questions, please let me know. Happy gaming!
