I ask because MANY target stores have an overstock section for games (I.e. not locked up) that aren’t priced any lower than when they were still in the display cases.

^^^Same.

But what gets annoying is that most of the games in that area don't have prices.  However, from my experience, 99.99% of the time, if there is no price, it's not on clearance.  They are pretty good about getting the clearance stickers on the games that have been marked down.  But any time a game isn't in the case and it doesn't have a price, I'm always wondering.

This has been the first year in a while that my Target has has very few games on clearance.  It's been a bit disappointing.

Ahh, yeah that's exactly what it was. So annoying!

You guy are lucky. My Clearance shelf at target is always empty. I asked an employee about it and he said "oh, we buy all that stuff up and resell it on Ebay."

Oh really? And he just openly said that? I'd imagine that's probably against store policy. I'd report that store to their head office.

Don't get me wrong. Employees shouldn't have the ability to buy clearance items removed from them, but when they buy everything for the purpose of reselling and leaving customers with nothing, that should be allowed.

Totally. I’ll occaiomally grab a few that I would want and scan them, but 99% of the time they aren’t even on sale, let alone clearance :(

Same for the lack of clearance items last year. When I first moved into our new house, the local target ALWAYS had some clearance games. 2018 was dry as a bone.

It totally is. I only know about it because I asked an employee about pricing on a number of items at one point.  He told me that the stuff on those shelves isn’t EVER on sale/clearance and it’s only there because there’s no space in the display for it anymore. Some of that stuff sits there for years.  They’ve had a Forza Horizon 2 Limited or whatever it’s called (has all the DLC included) forever. Still $99.99.

I had a guy at one target tell me that after asking where their clearance games were kept. Told me that he and another guy there buy ALL of it.  Not exactly the best way to let a customer know that there aren’t any clearance games currently in stock.

But I guess I shouldn’t expect any different from teenage stock boys.
TDIRunner:
Late December and Christmas pickups.

My first LRG arrivals in a while.

Christmas round 1 from my wife.

Christmas round 2 from my family.

And my parents picked one of these up for me for Christmas.  They aren't perfect, but they are still a lot of fun.  My son LOVES it and it's the perfect height for him.  Also, even though it was a gift, I enjoy it a lot more knowing they only paid $150 for it.  For that price this is a great item.
