At least you guys can easily calculate an hourly wage. It sorta varies week to week, month to month for me :P

I only make $12 an hour. I only bought that debug ps1 and that cd wallet because I put in over 20 hours overtime that week. Under normal conditions I usually set aside between $40 or $50 a month for my collecting. Plus I save up all my loose coinage, and that usually equals about $10 a month.

And here in Michigan, can and bottle returns are worth 10 cents each.   :P

if i wanna return cans I gotta go down a state...its only a small trip...but 5ยข isn't gonna go far.

I generally rely on my Father in-law for my older finds. Hoping he comes home from yard saling with a TG16 or some sweet RPGs I don"t have.

Newer games I get through Gamefly and if its cheap enough GameStop. (Aside from Darksiders II and Borderlands 2)

Im on salary, it has its ups and downs as I can work 80 hour weeks for the same wages I get for 40, but that said I know exactly what I am getting every week

Not a tag sale but I got a new Xbox Controller S blue controller from Wal Mart for $25. They had a big clearance wall full of old stuff. They had some GBA SP accessories, I got a case for $5, some DS light cases and styluses with a pack in game, most were Uno, but one was Elite Beat Agents, it was $15. There wer a lot of Rock Band and Guitar Hero sets, I may go back when the stuff is cheaper.

Salaries are pretty good in my city and line of work but housing is very expensive and keeps increasing so most of my income goes towards mortgage and bills

My place has gone up about 30% in the 3.5 years I've lived in it.  I wouldn't be able to purchase the same home if I were buying now id be buying something smaller.

That's why I try and spend as little as possible on collecting.

I definately still spend quite a bit still bit I try and stretch a buck as far as I can.  Garage sales are definately the best bet to get things cheap.  Even if i find things I already have or don't want that can be traded or sold for cash to buy more games.
