My best find in 2011 definitely was the new but unsealed Stadium Events for the NES for a whopping 2 Euros in an old toy store.

.|.._

I was able to pick up Athletic world in the box at an older woman's garage sale.  Nearly soiled myself when i say that silver box from the bottom of the driveway, hoping it was the holy grail.  I'll have to keep my day job.

Please do scan the box, I need that cover.

Yeah but the PAL and US versions of this game are two completely different pair of shoes.

Are you talking about rarity difference of Stadium Events, or is there something different in PAL and US versions of Athletic World.
If latter, what?

I just meant that my find of Stadium Events in this condition was pretty fucking nice at this price point but it is "just" the PAL not the astronomically priced US version.
2 + 3 = 23

well 2011 isn't over yet.  doing some holiday traveling in south jersey, had to stop at the farmers market and check it out.  The usual insane price resellers.... but picked up 12 very fresh nes games with slip @ $2 ea including pin ball with famicom adapter!. opened it up with the leatherman to verify for sure.

I will scan Athletic World when i get a chance.  Have to read up on the how to first.

Scans look good qualitywise.

Thank you.

But would you scan at higher DPI to leave margin for editing?
300 is OK, but 450-600 DPI would be preferred.

Got those 600 dpi scans in the wiki, along with 600dpi of California games (i didnt see a cover for it already made)

Question:  I scanned these with unscreen on.  I think it makes for a much better image scan on these boxes, but the text sharpness really suffers.  I know a lot of people retype the text so its not a big deal.  Should i upload a version with no processing by the scanner? (its a canoscan 8400)

Back on Topic: picked up 8 N64 games at the local goodwill

space station silicon valley
mission impossible
rampage2
+ 5 sports games

High quality artwork is more impostant, so uploading the version that has better images in your opinion is enough as like you said retyping the text is normal (and Gamefaqs usually has the back texts already typed so artists can just copy/paste the text).

Or you can package all images into one ZIP/RAR file and upload that.

I still think California games is already done, I'll check when I get home. If it is done, and I have it printed, I'll have the file on my computer so I can upload it.

AAAAHHH!!! DAMN IT!  How the hell did you manage VH for 8 bucks??? Thats one of the few I need. I think it goes for 50+ depending on condition.  I don't seem to ever find RPG games

Its funny, I went into one of my local hock shops last weekend and got Vandal Hearts 1 with Legend of Legaia. Then I went back again this weekend and got Vandal Hearts 2 and Star Ocean just minutes after they put them out. All of them with close to no scratched, if any.

I always seem to get lucky when it comes to expensive RPG's for the PS1. And Im not much of an RPG fan unless its more action based so I usually resell them. I think ill be keeping these 4, but Ive gotten my hands on some other rare ones like Suikoden for $5 which I easily resold for $40.

To be honest, Ive never tried Vandal Hearts before, but I do enjoy tactic games from time to time so thats why Im holding on to these. My roommate was very dissapointed he didnt get to them first! ;D

I had a pretty damn good day yesterday.

I guy came into my store yesterday with a gigantic box full of PS2 games and a handful of PS1 games.  He said he just upgraded to the 360 over christmas and has no use for the old games. I told him we gladly take any PS2 games but we no longer takes PS1 games in trade as of 5ish years ago.

I told him he could try a pawn shop or online for the PS1 games.  His reply was "Well do you play PS1 games still?" ... Uh yeah!  I looked through his pile of old sports games and on the bottom of the pile is a mint Final Fantasy VII Black Label w/ the back misprint on the text.  I couldn't rightfully just take this gem off his hands so i told him to try ebay and he could get a pretty penny for them. He said he doesn't use the internet and would much rather give it to someone who would enjoy it.

I asked him if he was sure at least 5 times and he really wanted me to have the PS1 games.  What a nice guy.  :)

Long story short: I got mint Final Fantasy VII Black Label w/ the back misprint for the whopping price of Free

Trust me I won't. If i ever did decide to part ways with it I couldn't rightfully make a profit from it  :)   It would have to be given away ... I probably won't be doing that anytime soon.
