I didn't even know that game had ever been released to a home system.

IIRC the home ports were actually better than the arcade version (though still crappy).

I too am jealous....only goodwill around me is a good 45 minute ride away....closest salvation army is new and gas mostly clothes. I would say i'd pass up those games....but having 3 game shops around within 40 mins that will take classics - next gen stuff keeps me buying stuff I dont want as long as its cheap enough

My 2011 pickin highlights

garage sales

sega dreamcast 2 controllers 20 complete games $30

sega gen 2, sega gen 3, 5 controllers 40 games ~ $25

about 3 nes systems with game lots ~$100 total
   - duck hunt with famicom adapter
   - gyromite with famicom adapter
   - 10+ controllers, zappers, max, advantage, joy sticks
   - VAUS controller
   - ~ 80 carts including all 3 contras, many 5 screws
-gba ags-101 pink with case + games $10
   - piles of ds, gba, ps2, n64 games most for $1 ea

thrift/will/salvation/flea

-60+ ps1( including ff7 complete black label with misprint back $3)
-many n64, snes, nes games nothing very rare
-blue GBA ags-101 cracked but working $1 (new shell ordered)

I'm new to collecting games but after 1 year I've got a pretty respectable spread going with
minimal investment.  and its been really fun to go on the hunt and occasionally play some games

My best find in 2011 definitely was the new but unsealed Stadium Events for the NES for a whopping 2 Euros in an old toy store.
2 + 3 = 23

I was able to pick up Athletic world in the box at an older woman's garage sale.  Nearly soiled myself when i say that silver box from the bottom of the driveway, hoping it was the holy grail.  I'll have to keep my day job.

Yeah but the PAL and US versions of this game are two completely different pair of shoes.
2 + 3 = 23
