I need a recommendation for an HDMI switcher/matrix. I'm looking for one that can accommodate a minimum of 6 individual inputs and 2 simultaneous outputs. There are tons of same-looking (and potentially dubious) products on Amazon and the like, but I was hoping someone here could point me in the direction of something that worked for them. Thanks in advance. |

I could use some help here too. I bought a couple of cheap-o switches a while back on amazon to use in the workshop, and both are total crap. |

I got these for myself and haven't bought the SCART cables yet. With the better cables out there, one should... apparently be getting this quality... https://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=50851 gscartsw_lite has 8 inputs and 2 outputs, but it's all SCART. And I know nothing about what to buy next, and have been waiting for some more cash to come in before I take the dive |

Some of use are using the Extron matrix component switchers. That same company makes HDMI matrix switchers, but I have yet to see any of them selling for reasonable prices. It's not surprising. Those component switchers are thousands when they are new, but they go for cheap when they are used because there isn't much demand for them. The HDMI matrix switchers are super expensive when new, but unfortunately, lots of other people can use them, so they keep a higher value when used. I have a feeling that we may start seeing more of these on the market in a few years for somewhat lower prices. Pretty much everything runs through HDMI now, so it's not that uncommon for people to need multiple HDMI inputs (even if they aren't into gaming). There is actually enough demand that we might see multiple companies trying to get into the market. Unfortunately, there isn't much available yet. |
